Faragasia The Shattered Land Mastin
Prologue: In a world where a tyrant rules all, conflict, chaos, destruction, despair, death, and evil reign supreme. Faragasia is such a land, ruled by King Garax for well over thirty years. During his reign, the land has suffered greatly, as many families are executed without reason and unjustly. However—despite this—the people seem to accept his rule with no trouble at all. They really have no explanation for why, despite their losses at this terrible man. However, it may simply be that they don’t see anyone else who can lead them. Their fear may dominate them as well, knowing all too well what happens to those rebelling against the empire. However, not all accept this rule. Some people have rebelled with some success, calling themselves more of ‘outlaws’ than actual ‘rebels’. The title of outlaw is even accepted by the king, as he considers them to be ‘a nuisance we can tolerate’. If he only knew what those ‘outlaws’ had planned, he would send every ship in his mighty fleet to hunt them all down. One such ‘outlaw’ is named Captain Ace Ranger Brigand, the captain of the Freedom Fighter. Of course, Ace R. Brigand is not his real name, but if he went by his real name, he’d be dead rather quickly. The Freedom Fighter is a large ship, balanced for all three zones of travel. On the seas, she uses cannons of the olden days, since the water-based ships of wood cannot hold any better. Most use sails or rows to move in the seas—like in the olden days—simply because newer technology has trouble functioning in the stormy fury the ocean produces. But the Freedom Fighter not only uses sails and rows in unison, but also contains the latest propeller technology for quick getaways. If necessary, she also comes equipped with several jets in place, allowing her to go near the speed of sound. With those two abilities, she is also very capable of taking to the skies. When engaging in combat there, she’ll use the laser cannons that do not work very well in the sea. Her deadly speed combined with her arsenal makes her the terror of the skies and seas, but there is one plane that is thought safe that she also lurks in. At Ace’s request, the Freedom Fighter was modified to allow submersion into the seas. She can literally just dive into the water, after proper lockdown. When underwater, she can use her radar to pick out targets and possibly sink them with her torpedoes. With all three of these combined, the Freedom Fighter is unmatched by any. Ace, however, is no pirate out for money, gold, wealth, and the like. He has never targeted a merchant ship; his only targets are those that are under the command of the empire. His personal motivation is hidden to most, yet it does exist. Only when in self-defense has he ever broken his solemn oath, with only a few documented cases of this happening. But when he attacks, rumors state that he is more brutal than any other pirate alive or dead; it is said that he will decapitate even the lowest members of the attacking ship for just speaking against him. However, things around will quickly change. Technologies thought safe shall prove dangerous, technologies thought old shall become new, technologies though new shall become old, and dangerous technology will be declared safe. Magic will be rewritten and the things that were the only clear things in existence will be dashed to shards as the truth behind Faragasia’s largest secrets shall be unveiled. All is not as it seems, as the land prepares for what could be the largest battle in the history of the world…
