Xirminator -> Random Stuff by Xirminator - Comments and Criticism (1/2/2009 10:04:19)

Comment, criticize, or complain about my "random stuff" here. (Ironically, I had a terrible internet connection while trying to post them. Fate must have attempted to stop me from posting such abominable work. :P)

Also, if you're interested, you could visit my website.

My website can be found here: Flight of Fire

The Random Stuff I'm Talking About

Firefly -> RE: Random Stuff by Xirminator - Comments and Criticism (1/2/2009 11:34:24)

Lol, you know I read and laughed about the vampire interview. Good work with the ending, especially, and the line "Never mind I'm on TV" Anyways, I hope the connection gets fixed up and remember to link to the stuff in the "Other" section once you post it.

Xirminator -> RE: Random Stuff by Xirminator - Comments and Criticism (1/2/2009 11:41:48)

I edited the Interview... again. Added a couple of references here and there ;)

Firefly -> RE: Random Stuff by Xirminator - Comments and Criticism (1/2/2009 11:59:17)

Lawl, loved the references. They actually have some symbolism, whether intended or not. ;)

Oh, and I remember The Satyr and the Fae. It was the first thing I read by you, I think. Still liking the atmosphere you injected into it.

Xirminator -> RE: Random Stuff by Xirminator - Comments and Criticism (1/3/2009 7:37:26)

Yeah, I remember your critique. Anyway, I added a new one. I hope to expand it into a real short story. It's called "I Am Time".

I would really appreciate some comments on it, as it is almost unedited.

Firefly -> RE: Random Stuff by Xirminator - Comments and Criticism (1/3/2009 13:52:46)

o.O

Your website name... That's just insane. Did you know that Jerenda's nickname for /me/ is "Flight-of-Fire"? <_< For a second there, I thought you were singling me out for some horrid purpose. =P

Keep up with the expanding, but don't neglect Dead Curse either. Working on a few things can be good if you get stuck on one, but too many at a time can be a big hassle. That's all I can say. Good luck. ;)

Xirminator -> RE: Random Stuff by Xirminator - Comments and Criticism (1/3/2009 17:11:41)

No, I definitely did not know that. I don't even know who Jerenda is. And yes, it's a strange, unusual coincidence that borders on creepy.

And no, I won't neglect Dead Curse. You should know I get distracted easily and end up working on everything at the same time. It's my style :P Also, how did you like 'I Am Time"?

Xirminator -> RE: Random Stuff by Xirminator - Comments and Criticism (1/29/2009 17:37:40)

Ok, since I've been moving stories from one thread to another like mail in a tornado, here's what's "officially" Random Stuff:

1) The Satyr And The Fae

2) The Troll

3) An Interview with a Vampire

4) The Salmon King

All can be found from the link in the first post.

ringulreith -> RE: Random Stuff by Xirminator - Comments and Criticism (8/22/2009 13:59:41)

My goodness man, you did not seriously parody Kingdom of Loathing.

Xirminator -> RE: Random Stuff by Xirminator - Comments and Criticism (8/22/2009 18:47:23)

Of course not. I wouldn't parody Kingdom of Loathing. I was inspired by Kingdom of Loathing to start parodying other stuff.

How did you notice anyway? There's no references to KoL in there.

ringulreith -> RE: Random Stuff by Xirminator - Comments and Criticism (8/22/2009 23:53:29)

Urm... Black forest, walking faster to get away from mummies, swinging blade traps... I don't know, maybe I've been playing too much KoL lately.

Xirminator -> RE: Random Stuff by Xirminator - Comments and Criticism (8/23/2009 5:10:13)

Hmm, the only thing I got from KoL is walking faster than mummies. It's actually what gave me the idea for this Journal.

Swinging blade traps and that sort of stuff are a bit of a cliche where Pyramids and ancient tombs are involved.

As for the Black Forest, I just drew up a few random 'fantasy' sounding names.

Argeus the Paladin -> RE: Random Stuff by Xirminator - Comments and Criticism (8/26/2009 21:39:41)

Hi there Xirm, just covered your Interview with a Vampire and Salmon King.

Interview with a vampire comes off as proof of how, these days vampires cannot be spelt without "Twilight" and/or "sparkle". It's a sad fact of world literature isn't it? Although I didn't really get the ending - or maybe I'm just too serious all the time.

And Salmon King. Was that supposed to be a parody of sort? The repetitive language, the incessant LARGE HAM and scenery-chewing, and the narrator being a salmon - the kind I literally eat for dinner every single week. If it is, then great job. This sort of humor is quite deep and requires lateral thinking to both create and understand. If not... let's just say I was lost at the meantime.

Will be back soon!

Xirminator -> RE: Random Stuff by Xirminator - Comments and Criticism (9/2/2009 7:53:39)

The ending of the Interview with a Vampire is an example of a vampire's insatiable and uncontrollabe thirst for... flowers.

I'm glad to know you liked the Salmon King. It's not exactly a parody; more of a random paragraph I came up with. Basically, the salmon is describing what he sees in his kingdom... which - and I hope you noticed - is an aquarium.

Helixi -> RE: Random Stuff by Xirminator - Comments and Criticism (9/2/2009 9:27:34)

Well, I might as well read my critic's stuff, since you're reading mine.

Interview was....interesting. I love the parodies in it. It was good writing, but in my opinion The Salmon King was better. I loved how the narrator was the salmon king, as Argeus said.

Xirminator -> RE: Random Stuff by Xirminator - Comments and Criticism (9/5/2009 10:12:30)

Thank you Helixi! :D

Anyway, I'm thinking of reorganizing my story threads into two: a Fantasy Thread and a Science Fiction Thread. I'll get rid of unfinished stories that I dropped and put up a new story which is almost complete.
