Common Sense Guide Professor Ca'min Tsentz: Ahem. Class, eyes front. Thank you. Today our lesson will be on how to protect ourselves from scammers. These are nasty denizens of the internet that want the goodies you have in your account. Defending ourselves against these people is of the UTMOST importance! Firstly, class, we must remember to pick a security phrase that will not be easily guessed. And before you ask, "password," "default," and "123456" are not appropriate security phrases. The best password that you can pick for yourself is one that is easily remembered but hard to guess. Phrases that are in a dictionary are always a bad idea as the wily scammer will most likely attempt them first. Try to throw random punctuation into your security phrase, class, as those are much harder to guess. Something like "chok.bel" would work because you can pronounce it but it's not an actual word; along with the punctuation that would be a very good password. Just don't use that one now that others know it! The next point would be do not give ANYONE your password. For any reason. Artix Entertainment staff will not need it and neither does your brother, friend, or dog! Your password is your property and please don't let anyone have it. Ever. For any reason. Not even if they ask with sugar and candy and cherries on top. The third thing I would like to discuss, class, is making sure your computer itself is secure. If there is a possibility of anyone else using your workstation-- be it a friend, a brother, or anyone-- please do not allow your password to be remembered by the system. It is much too easy for someone else to log onto your account and mess around with all of the pretty weapons and armors you have collected that way. Finally, class, make sure you put your password where it belongs! Always check the top of the screen for the address bar. If it looks suspicious, double check. If you are playing DragonFable make sure that you are logging into "dragonfable.battleon.com/game". If you are playing AdventureQuest make sure it is "server.battleon.com". Nowhere else should you enter your game account and password. That concludes today's lesson, class. Please remember these fine points and you will never have to worry about lost passwords, stolen accounts, or uber sets sold on you again. Happy Adventuring!
