Frog in a Rock. It's supposed to be Temura singing her story. I can't sing worth peanuts, alas! Like a frog in a rock, I knew nothing. Last of man, Or so I thought. Like a frog in a rock, I never saw what was out there. I was told that out there, Nothing lived... For there was no society after the devourer. Boy, were my tutors wrong. There was society and beasts. Wandered far, A rover I was, Mankind wasn't a frog in a rock, I realised, Mankind was like a creeper, Far flung and flourishing across the land. Why is it so hard? Why do I feel this way, When a man cub looks at me, Come thither, says he. Why do I feel like I can't answer? It is this strangeness of man That drew me back to the K'elds. But man, elf and drakel vendettas had begun. Friend of family, that was Pra'Mithia. Woman in body, Ge'Thrak in thought. The'Galin's return brought misery. Beast, drakel, man and elf fell to his servants. I saw many beasts place their necks on the block And walk away with many a scar. Saw all of Lore put away their differences To preserve our reality and sanity. Knew then, I must know more. No longer am I a frog in a rock, Now I know much, No longer am I the toad in the well, To know is to survive. With knowledge, We will survive.
