Hunter Reckoning, at the moment, it isn't possible to do so. Though, in game, if you go to Admiral Amada in the Bridge and select "Tell me about the Fleet" then "Tell me about the Alteon" and keep selecting "More", then a button will come up saying " Become a WARP GUARDIAN!" Click on it, and a message will come up saying ' You can become a WarpGuardian beginning sometime on July 17th!" It's pretty self-explanatory. :P

Edit: I added some image links, for if you want some visual proof.

Kairon -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 14:07:45)

@OmniGuardian
If you look at the amount of attacks the WG armor will be capable of performing, you can see where that kind of system might run into problems. My proposal just means they need to change the menu location onscreen, which shouldn't be too difficult.
Although I must wonder why they never made more use of the system they developed for the classes in AQ. The split off menu (Attack; Class Skills) has room for four attacks, but as far as I'm aware they never used all four. And if you can have four, what is to bar you from having more?

Dark Paladin 569 -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 14:12:05)

Im LV ten now but it was kinda too easy. I did it with barely any stats at all and with a lv3 wep. I would of been better if it was a bit more challenging

Nightly -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 14:14:26)

Dark Paladin 569

Well don't forget that it is only in its Beta stage. I'm sure as the game progresses that it will become a lot harder. So go buy a Level Ten weapon!

bluebowser31 -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 16:07:10)

what i dont get is why the light weapons are so weak. i mean the level 9 or 10 one is weaker than a lvl 3!

oh level 10, 3, 3, 2, 2 :I

Hagen -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 16:08:57)

Well, the strongest weapon currently available in WF is a light one...

Nightly -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 17:21:44)

Is the ranks of the NPC's based off of some sort of military? Because the placement of the ranks is bothering me.

Asgaroth -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 17:36:46)

Anyone noticed how the warpguardian blade seems to be almost exactly like the blade of awe and the one screen shot posted in the screen shot thread of the warp guardian seems to show that it can change forms because of the icons under the characters portrait. I can't wait till warpguardian comes out. Also, for everyone saying this is exactly like aq, It is actually very different. For example, the battle suits seem like they act like classes. It also seems that all weapons have specials. Gaunlets also seem to be a new, also very powerful weapon which could spawn a whole new type of stat builds and character set ups.

zombiekiller1 -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 17:49:56)

i think the energy wep is better and the water one is very good too

xTheLegendx -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 18:36:20)

need to untrain my messed up stat =(

steelsoldier -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 19:50:18)

This game will probably have less variety weapons than aq, but at least each one of them will have many optional ways of attacking, and thatīs great.
The option to throw, use weapon, gauntlet, etc is an awesome improvement over AQ, I can see each armour giving an extra attack for the player.

vuu_ming -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 19:59:54)

Does anyone know when Warpguardian comes out, if you can use a UPGRADE card for it, I think so because, hey! It worked for the other 4 games, so proabable, but just wondering?! Thanks!

TreadLight -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 20:06:45)

vuu_ming, here's a quote from a previous answer to the same [first] question:

Also, here's a quote from the first WarpForce Announcement:
quote:

UPGRADES: Upgrades will be a one-time fee just like AE's other single player games.
From these quotes are all the information that has been given to us about the WarpGuardian-ship's upgrade process.

vuu_ming -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 20:12:25)

@Treadlight: Thanks! and my bad, and WHAT I meant is that, I DO know that Warpforce will get an Upgrade, but I was wondering when the UPGRADE comes out, if you can buy/use a UPGRADE CARD, that they sell in select stores, I.E. Target, Best Buy, Etc., to UPGRADE to a Warpguardian, but... I guess it was my fault for not clarifying it earlier, so sorry!

And, I asked that because, if you can use a UPGRADE CARD to upgrade in the last 4 AE games, then wouldn't it make sense to be able to use it to UPGRADE to Warpguardian status in Warpforce too?![8|] .....Ahhhhh my brain hurts....sorry!

TreadLight -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 20:26:49)

Yeah, it really would make sense; I highly doubt they wouldn't, but we can't really come down to conclusions just yet. We don't want to get our hopes up for something that may not even happen, right? /me sighs.

vuu_ming -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 20:29:24)

@Treadlight: Yeah I know what you mean...AE really got their hands full, what with 5 AE games!!!! I'll be surprised if they have enough time to even make one, oh welll, we'll just see....

Darius -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 22:27:02)

@Nightly: The NPCs' ranks are messed up. Amada says that Temura is a captain, but she has three stars on her lapel, which implies General. Also, General Stormfront messes up our rank. Before we complete the Moon Base mission, we're offered a promotion to Private, but when we talk to him after, we're the next rank up--PFC, or Private First-Class. Furthermore, Private and General are Army ranks, while Admiral is a Naval rank, so there's some confusion there, as well. What's more, there's a Captain aboard the ship, Cpt. Daian in sickbay. Normally, Naval Captains are given command of their own ships, but Daian serves under both Amada and Stormfront on the same vessel, so she must be an Army Captain--a rank that is often given command over a company of infantry or artillery, or in her case, an eilte task force. The only truly correct rank is Lt. Amada, since in the Air Force and Navy, Lieutenants are often given the authority to pilot aircraft such as fighters and bombers.

Demon Lord Tyrus -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 22:31:40)

So, I'm curious as to if anyone has trained any stat points into Charisma? If you face the trainer for charisma points, you'll see he has a whopping 80 Defence in Melee, Ranged, and Magic. Out of curiosity, I counted how many times me and my pet hit, and how much damage I did, in the time it took him to kill me (including using Medic I the total of 1 times my mana can currently handle.)

All in all, I hit him 7 times and my pet hit him 2 times, for a total of 28 damage (fight ended with him on 122/150 health). It seems a tad too difficult for me :P since he scales with your level, that 80 defence level is never gonna be anything but next to impossible to beat. Though I'm only level 5, I did use the Damaged Rocket Launcher for its 4 hit special, and that the retro armour does a 2 hit basic attack with Fire Gun on ranged weapons.

Lord FarTBoY -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 23:17:37)

Vuu remember different staff work on different games for the most part

Awesomeosaurus -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 23:35:26)

this game is amazingly awesome, i plan on becoming a war guardian pretty quickly
its the first beta i'v ever played in :)
clans are gonna be pretty cool
instead of houses there should be space ships or something

destroyer2424 -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/9/2009 23:53:02)

playing a beta for the first time is a treat

I remember playind the df beta

well anyways back on topic

leveling isn't too hard

and I can't wait to get advanced retro armor

Asgaroth -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/10/2009 1:12:31)

@ tyrus: The same goes for endurance training only it's not quite as bad. Even with enemies that have 10 defense it still seems theres a pretty good chance you'll miss. this is really high and the trainer having 50+ defense is completely insane. I know it's in beta but the staff could have at least realized that before they started beta.

AbelC -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/10/2009 7:40:11)

I still can't play but one question, does the game has any feature which has never been seen before at AE games?

All AE games have some few features that make them different from the others and were already defined at the beta:
Archknight-DF:You can see your character, walk across the map, different rewards from the same quest etc
Mechquest: Mecha's with weapons like body, head, arms etc
Aqw: Multiplayer, weapon enhancements, events in real time

But from what i heard it looks like this game is just AQ engine with new graphics, is this true?

Nightly -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/10/2009 8:29:55)

AbelC

quote:

So... you all are ignoring what has been done differently with armors, what's been done differently with guns (AQ weapons like that can't be used as ordinary attacks like the other weapons can), the way quests are organized, and the music? That's not all of them. Those are just the ones that are obvious. It uses AQ's game engine, yes, it was NEVER claimed or hyped otherwise. WF was not over hyped as you were told exactly that it was going to be built off of AQ's game engine. You're either ignoring or overlooking the attributes that differentiate it from AQ.

Saying that WF is the same as AQ is like saying that every turn-based Final Fantasy is the same.

This is from Genoclysm on the page before this one.

The icons are status icons. Try out Dragonslayer in AQ to see some examples of status effects.

AbelC, while it is very much like AQ, and it uses the AQ engine, those claiming it is nothing but a re-skinned AQ are mistaken. I won't say all of the differences, partially because it's too tedious and partially because some of it is information that isn't going to be released yet, but you can see some of the obvious differences being described in the post I've quoted while addressing someone else. Calling this a re-skinned AQ might as well say that the Final Fantasy games are all re-skins.

EDIT: Guess I took too long typing that out. I must have started just as the post above me was made.
