_Rowey_ -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/5/2009 16:34:29)

some constructive criticism please, how can i improve my gunner attributes:
STR 40
DEX 40
INT 10
END 30
CHA 20
LUK 10

Not that good, but how can i make it better?

Nightly -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/5/2009 16:37:59)

Well lets see:

1) What Level are you?
2) Is there a certain build you would like to accomplish?

_Rowey_ -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/5/2009 16:39:27)

30 now, and i dont know [:(] im not very good at this at the moment.

Nightly -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/5/2009 16:46:41)

Well at the moment, it would be best for you to be a flat out Hybrid Build. Your stats have you set at being an all-around player meaning you won't excel at a certain thing, but if you use up all of your talents you'll be just as good.

As a Gunner, you won't need any more Strength, so unless you plan on sticking with being a Hybrid, forget about it.

You have a couple of choices on how you could go:

Pure Gunner
Tank Gunner
Beastmaster Gunner

Pure Gunner would cause you to increase your Luck, Dexterity, and Endurance. More focus on Luck.
Tank Gunner would be increased Endurance and Dexterity. More focus on Dexterity, but a high Endurance.
Beastmaster would be increased Charisma, Dexterity, and Endurance. More focus on Charisma.

I'm working on a Guide for Stats and Build choices so hopefully you can look up on that in the near future.

_Rowey_ -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/5/2009 16:49:52)

woow! thanks your the best [:)] I think i'll go for the tank gunner [:D]

The Braken Bard -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/5/2009 19:52:28)

Does anyone have some advice for fighting Tronzor? I am nearly level 15 yet I still can't beat Tronzor when I'm training DEX.

Bu Kek Siansu -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/5/2009 20:16:15)

Use your best pet/Ranged weapon, 3 HP Potions(just 1 each, no double potions), and pick Zorboz from the Engineer,
When it's done, and you don't have any HP Potion more, just logout and login to refrain new 3 HP/MP Potions.

P.S. As a Gunner you should not train STR.
You just can train DEX, then LUK. END later at higher level.

BELOW
BlueKatz: Free players just get 3 HP/MP Potions while WarpGuardians get 6 HP/MP Potions.
See the character under The Braken Bard(click on the AQ button) which is as a free player. [:D]

moneybags -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/5/2009 20:22:33)

To add to Nightly's post, another choice of a Gunner would be an Engineer Gunner. They would focus on DEX, LUK, and INT, with a little bit of END, and this build is for people who likes to use Spells.

Some tips for The Braken Bard I would like to add

  • Limit yourself on Spells unless they are healing spells; Tronzor has 50 Magic Defense.
  • His attacks are usually ranged (2/3 of the time), so it would be a good idea to get your range defense quite high.

To Mysterious Strangeface: STR does not neccessarily have to only be for Strikers. In fact, Aelthai has stated that a Pure Gunner would have STR (at least thats what I heard :P). A Gunner should use Guns, yes, but the STR can be used to use Armor Skills when using Guns, which would also give a damage bonus.

Nightly -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/5/2009 22:01:26)

To add on to moneybags post :P

Try and get the best Ranged weapon you can find, equip yourself with a pet that has multi-attacks, and equip a guest.

(I didn't add the Engineer Gunner due to the low choice of Spells. I'd rather not put skill points in a low use option :D)

Mazic -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/5/2009 22:33:08)

@Darius-Thanks. I had that weapon in my notes except I made a tiny error :P, I had it set to level 45 lol. I updated it the WG Gunner guide with the fix. Thanks again Darius!

BlueKatz -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/5/2009 22:48:01)

I just want to add: there are 4 potion, not 3 like Mysterious Strangeface said.

Darius -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/6/2009 0:18:40)

NP, Maz! Glad to help!

My projected build for Lv.40, currently Lv.35:
STR=50
DEX=50
INT=0
END=50 (currently 25)
CHA=0
LUK=50
Weapons indicate pure gunner build, but I may delve into engineering at a later date after untraining is released, I haven't decided yet. Character page is in my sig.

moneybags -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/6/2009 0:29:01)

Hmm, before you train your END up to 50, I'd just like to point out a few notes.

  • Although END may be an overpowered stat, it is not needed. When I reach 40, I will only have 10 or 15 END (I'm currently at 10, and I find the game just right; nothing too easy, but nothing too impossible either). In AQ, many level 130 characters have 50; I doubt you'll need 50 at such a low level.
  • With that said, if you do not decide to train those 25 stat points to END, you'll have quite a few options. As you can see, you can train STR, DEX and LUK. This choice would be all up to you. DEX, great if you plan on sitting in defensive armors; STR great if you want to go offensive. LUK if you want a bit of both. I'd go with DEX; it provides good BtH, as well as higher blocking resistances. It'd really come helpful; you'd need the extra BtH since guns deal lower damage, but again, its up to you

Darius -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/6/2009 1:07:01)

Okay, you make a good argument. I'll put those last 25 into DEX instead of END. Thanks!

Edit: Whoops, I mean DEX, not LUK!

Aelthai -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/6/2009 2:26:26)

Since my name appears to be being taken in vain ... :-p

Let me be clear: a "pure" Gunner would NOT have STR. Indeed, if you are planning to train STR you should not be using Guns - they do not depend on STR at ALL which means that those points are wasted.

Gunner is the "default" weapon set - everyone who does not train STR should use Guns. This also means that if you are training STR, you should not be using Guns - because sticks should be better for you :-)

nosey123 -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/6/2009 4:01:31)

Gah, so confusing, but looks like i will just train str/dex/end/luk since i want to use both sticks and guns. :p

afsoc4life -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/6/2009 9:35:33)

my build as a striker - crazy? not!!

STR - 70
DEX - 60
END - 10
LUK - 10

Hit like crazy - only prob is lasting in the fight .. lets go!!

moneybags -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/6/2009 10:20:37)

@Aelthai

I've talked with Aelthai in the past and she agreed with me on the fact that the build for a Pure Ranger, AQ, works quite well for a Pure Gunner

IF a Pure Ranger in AQ would include STR, and that a Pure Ranger would be a Pure Gunner build, wouldn't a WF Pure Gunner build include STR as well?

>.< Ack, so confused :P

_Rowey_ -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/6/2009 15:53:13)

I hope they make an ability to change your attributes around, i really need it [&o]

moneybags -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/6/2009 18:56:18)

Let me clarify on my lack of knowledge...

A Gunner needs no STR, agreed. But as we know, a build has three main stats, with another trained a little bit. So now, we have a Pure Gunner: DEX trained, LUK trained, and lets say, END trained a little bit. What would be its third stat? Surely, it can't be INT; it'll make the Gunner an Engineer Gunner. If END were trained up to max, the character would turn into a Tank Gunner. Training CHA would change the character to a Beastmaster Gunner (not sure what its called in WF, but you get my point :P). That leaves STR.

I beleive STR would make a Pure Gunner. Pure builds are supposed to get maximum damage, right? And if I'm correct, STR gives damage bonus on guns on the special armor attacks, no? Its just the normal *poom poom* firing of the gun that doesn't receive stat damage, right?

quote:

ORIGINAL: Mysterious Strangeface
P.S. As a Gunner you should not train STR unless as a Hybrid.
You just can train DEX, then LUK. END later at higher level. Then, if possible INT and/or CHA later at higher level.

And no, training STR does not make you a Hybrid; it makes you a Striker ;)

As I said, as a Gunner you should NOT train STR but others, unless you also use sticks/Melee Weapons,
let me say by accident you have chosen the wrong build that should be as a Striker or it's just as a Hybrid.
As a Gunner you should just use Guns/Ranged Weapons.

Nightly -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/6/2009 19:25:44)

Okay, so Gunners (Pure) should only be Dexterity, Luck, and a little bit of Endurance. Got it!

And Strikers (Pure) should be the same except with Strength. Am I correct?

Verlyrus -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/6/2009 19:41:55)

Yes, Nightly, that's correct.

Nightly -> RE: =WF= Battle Strategy/Equipment/Stats Discussion (10/6/2009 19:43:31)

Thanks LT :D

Has anyone ever added a B before your initials? [;)]
