Also generally polls are created to achieve something. But an issue like this could easily be sorted be counting people's ideas. A poll in most cases isn't necessary, and mods/admins make polls when they need to know quickly about something. And a poll from a member doesn't necessarily need the information as it doesn't achieve anything really. It is probably better to use a discussion thread rather than a poll.
So I don't think that they will be re introduced as loads of boards would be crowded with unnecessary polls. This would ultimately cause spam, and then the polls would get deleted.
