Skarh -> Equipment discussion thread (11/26/2009 22:41:11)

OK so we have an Equipment discussion thread on AQW.

i wanted to know if it can be transformed in an "board" similar to the Q&A section with short questions abou what helms/capes could be used with my armor i.e.
Its a bit anoying to make questions on the Equipment and discussion thread =P

its just an sugestion anyway, i know that make an new board require lots of work but i think it would be an good thing [8D]

P.S. sorry for the weird english [:D]

I don't think there would be enough equipment related questions to keep a thread like this useful.

There is no reason why questions about equipment can't be asked on the Equipment discussion thread, and the wiki is always a really good way to find out information.

Most questions on the Q&A are opinion so on an Equipment Q&A most of the answers would be based on opinion. But on the Equipment discussion thread people give their opinions, and you can also use the rate the character above you thread.

I 100% agree, in DF, it's Character Advice and rating.
As I see, in AQW there is "Rate a character above u" (from AQ idea) but as I see, it's work horrible.

Thats exactly the point, on the Q&A board you cant/shoudnt make questions related to opinions, if i have an doubt on the helm selection v.g. is because i already saw the wiki and got 2 possible options but cant decide beetwen them. So if we had this board we could ask what other players think...i think its an good idea

Just to make an example, all the times i tried to post on the rate the character above you thread noone rated me[>:]

To add to the points expressed above, you must take in consideration the content of a board. The current AQW Q&A uses a system which only strict answers can be given, and what you're suggesting is more answer based on opinion, which differ from post to post. The current threads on GD (Equipment Comparision/Rate the Character Above You) already cover pretty much a Equipment Q&A could do.

If items worked as like on the other AE games, with stats and specific uses, a Equipment Q&A would be required, but since they don't, and work more as fashion than anything else, creating a board for the sole purpose of opinions on X or Y would take too much database, more ArchKnights and more spam.

@zorok there's an place to suggest stuff go there next time [;)]

And kain, What you said about being only an fashion discussion, well its very important to lots of peopple, me v.g., i have my doubts about seting equipment but i cant ask on Q&A and everytime i went on the rate the character above you i was ignored...thats why i suggested the board. Nowdays i have all the items i wanted to have (except for the rares/acs/members) but it still hard for me to find good sets, now just imagin how it is for an newbie that is just learning the way of the games. The first question they make on the Q&A board and they get an "its up to you" or "go to the discussion thread" its an really bad thin,g try to put yourself on their places...

@Skarh:

My point is that a board just for opinions on items which vary from person to person is useless in terms of use, and it would use too much database space which could be in more useful boards. Opinions are important, don't get me wrong, but boards just for them aren't. You can always log in the game and ask "Do I look good?", with no finger or any body part lost in the process and get the same result as in a thread.

About your Q&A point, I believe that's the best answer, honestly. A look varies from person to person, and seeing how the Q&A is more directed to important/relevant to the game questions, those answers weren't bad or wrong. Of course, they could answer if you looked good or bad too :P
