Ash The Phantom -> Proper Notice about thread deletion? (11/27/2009 18:10:04)

This just crossed my mind when I saw the newest AQ Newsletter get locked due to spammy complaining. Scakk said that any threads made about the Assassin Class will be deleted on site without warning. This is the quote.

quote:

As this thread is turning into a thread where people are doing nothing but complaining about Assassin not being out I will lock it now. There will not be another thread on the Assassin Class until the class is actually out. If one is made it will be deleted on site with out a deletion PM being sent to you as I am stating it here.

Something crossed my mind though. Who in their right mind would actively seek out this thread to see if threads are allowed? Someone could think "Well, that thread got locked, I might as well make a new one", only to have the thread deleted without warning or explanation. That can lead to anger, and might spark other rule breaking posts such as complaining or insulting the AK's and Moderators.

If a certain type of thread is being banned temporarily, I think there should be proper notice for something so important. IE a stickied thread to get people's attention with a title like "No threads about Assassin Class". I mean, is it really that hard for someone to debate against it? It's as simple as making a thread with an attention getting title with Scakk's quote in it.

I think most people would go to the thread to see why it was locked 4 pages early. I know I did.
