You start off in the Role Playing Academy, and once you've spent some time there and feel you're ready to move up into the Role Playing forum you post in the RP Forum Application thread (stickied in RPA). An AK or mod of the RP forum will review your posting history in the RPA and accept or deny you for the RP board.
