That is how you create a link in text. For example, if I wanted to create a link to the dragonfable homepage I would do this. 

[link=http://www.dragonfable.com/]Dragonfable Homepage[/link]

URL is the link of the site.

Taking phoenixfire's example, lets say you wanted to link to the DF Hompeage. The URL would be the link of the website: http://www.dragonfable.com/
