Beowolve -> Important Info (1/10/2010 13:57:09)

I noticed that we have an entire section of the forum filled with important info (eg. how to clear your cache ect.). I was thinking, shouldn't these "guides" be placed in each game forum so that people know what to do. Especially in the Q&A Forums. This way, it is easier for people to find them and read what they have to say.

If you do put those threads down in their appropriate sub-forums, they will be swamped with stickied threads, and it would block out all the threads that have a purpose. It's better where they are so that they stay organized.

While I do realise that most people don't know that they are there, it's easier to point them to the section then have the section go to them. If people want knowledge, then they'll go look for it, they won't wait till it comes to them. :D

True, a valid point. Maybe then, there could be a sticky that lead to the forums where these threads are held.

Or you could simply add it within the Important Information threads that abound in the sub-forums :P

You could, but I find that even then most people don't read it. Either one is fine. Just like you said, if people want info they have to go find it.

The True Assassin -> RE: Important Info (1/10/2010 15:47:51)

I suppose that the guides are placed here as somewhere for people to link and quote to and from them. Like Nightly said, if they were in every forum section then it would be to crowded, but it is true that people don't know about them.

Maybe there could be some sort of way where guides could be merged eg/ Gallery Q&A + Detailed Sig Guide

This would make sense but the Gallery Q&A doesn't get enough posts to make this a major difference. This is not the case everywhere but links to the these could be useful to other members.

Likewise I think that it is good having them there as a resource to quote from as it helps the members more directly and encourages more of a community spirit. Also most of the issues in these guides are to do with the forum support board and questions raised there, so having them in the same section makes sense at the current time.
