Malfestus -> A Quote Button (Please Lock or Delete) (5/6/2010 17:27:13) I know that there's a Quote Button above the box you type your message in, but that's not quite what I mean. Currently in order to quote someone you have to copy that person's text, press quote, then paste the text in between the quote tags. I'm not sure if it's feasible, but I think it would be great to have a quote button that we could press to automatically quote another user's text, unless there's a reason there isn't one that I don't know about. Edit: Issue addressed in first post, the thread is pretty pointless now. Lock/Deletion requested.

Chii -> RE: A Quote Button (5/6/2010 17:28:57) The sheer amount of abuse of that function, when it existed, led to its removal. Huge amounts of spam. Made discussion pages laggy and difficult to nagivate just who was saying what. People would quote posts they weren't even replying to. So on and so forth.

Digital X -> RE: A Quote Button (5/6/2010 17:30:30) The reason that you cannot do that is because is use to result in what is known as "Quote Pyramids" which is counted as spam. By that i mean quote on a quote etc excessive times. Edit, the Pyramid issue still caused issue with that option though yes?
