Acient J -> Intergration of Clans Into Other Forums (5/23/2010 15:50:28)

It would be great if the Clans/Clubs forums expanded into each individual game's sub-forums. It's hard to explain; what I mean is: like this...

EpicDuel shouldn't be included because on their forums they have recruitment threads for factions, which are just like clans.

Clans and clubs would still be created in the Clans/Clubs forums and would still have to follow the same rules and approval process. The only difference would be that the recruitment threads for clans would be moved to the respective AE Games forums. In each of these forums, there would also be an explanation of where to go to make your own clan (C/C Forums). Clubs would be kept in the C/C forums.

I feel that this would be helpful:

(A) because it would increase the popularity of clans in general, providing more depth to all games.
(B) because it would be easier to look for a game-specific clan.
(C) because it would provide more organization to current clans.

Feel free to criticize. *tenses*

Edit1: Changed the title to better fit the topic.
Edit2: Put Paxia under AQ Clans and GEARS Houses under MQ Clans to better fit with new clan organization.

Nice suggestion, I can say without a doubt AQW should have this forum implemented, the others i always find difficult to see the true purpose of a clan as it's single player apposed to an MMO, still people create them so I guess they all have some form of a purpose.

Spy -> RE: Clans/Clubs (5/23/2010 16:26:56)

There are many clans that branch out to more than one game, and it would be difficult for Clan Leaders to update each and every thread. Therefore it is much easier for the Clan Leader and the Moderators if it is just put in one place where it would be easier to update/moderate. Currently that is here: http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tt.asp?forumid=13

That's why I put "Cross-Game Clans" under AE GD. Although, I see your second point.

Leumas Dragonsword -> RE: Clans/Clubs (5/24/2010 0:16:55)

In my opinion only AQW would Benefit as it is an MMORPG. I like the idea in general, but for AQW there would be no purpose until Guilds/Clans came were released officially. What would be posted in each respective Section, how would it be organized? Would it be like a Suggestion Section, where there is a page for each Clan Leader to post about his/her Clan as advertisement? Staff don't necessarily have the Manpower to cope with that many Boards either.

Acient J -> RE: Clans/Clubs (5/31/2010 12:55:41)

@Leumas Dragonsword: I was thinking just the recruitment thread and a sticky that shows where to go to make a new clan. I suppose it would be best for AQW to wait for the guild system (DF as well).

I did something I should have done before suggesting this and counted up the number of clans/clubs.

AdventureQuest Worlds Clans: 48
MechQuest Clans: 1
DragonFable Clans: 5
AdventureQuest Clans: 4
WarpForce Clans: None
EpicDuel Clans: None
Cross-game Clans: 14
Clubs: 1

This is odd because it can really be used to strengthen both ends of the stick. On one hand one might say, "Only AQW has enough clans to benefit from this." On the other hand one might say, "It would raise awareness for the single-player games have clans." I'm personally for the latter, but it could go either way.

Kain -> RE: Clans/Clubs (5/31/2010 14:40:37)

I believe separating clans by boards is not needed, at least for now. Following your list, we would have one board with one single clan, and one with over 50. This kind of separation is not beneficial to the forum system, where boards are created when they either offer a lot of content to be discussed or are needed. For example, the AQW Guide board only came to life once the staff decided there was enough content to make the board worth it, despise the game being out for almost one year when it was introduced.

I know that both DF and AQW have in the plans a Guild/Clan system and while I'm not a MQ player anymore, there were plans to allow Armadas of players in MQ (though I'm not sure if it's still up). While I find this separation interesting, I believe it would only have full use once in-game clans were added, as this Clan system would allow a bigger number of people interested in clans in the forums, and perhaps then we would have enough content for a board for game-specific clans. However, if the problem right now is define what clan covers what game (so players can navigate through the clan board more easily), I'm sure a sticky is more than enough for such thing.

I see your point, Kain; all right, this thread can be locked.

Lock requested. ~Vivi
