quote:

III Inserting Image(s) into the Sig
• Code: [img]link to the picture complete with http://[/image]

• For now, assume that you already have the link for the image that you want to use in your sig. TinySig ( III.1) will be used as the example image. Typing
[img]http://media.artix.com/encyc/AQ/paebgcgdy/Guides/Sigs/TinySig.png[/img]
and clicking 'Apply' will display TinySig as your sig ( III.2).

• Now assume that you found an image that you want to use in your signature but don't have the link. Right click on the image and select 'Properties' ( III.3). In the window that pops up, highlight the link and hit Ctrl+C or right-click and select copy ( III.4). (A faster way in Firefox is to select 'Copy Link Location'.) Return to the sig editing area and paste (by either hitting Ctrl+V or right-clicking and selecting Paste) the link into the field ( III.5). After pasting the link, place [img] [/img] around the link ( III.6). Click 'Apply' and preview the sig ( III.7).

• Do NOT use this method to steal someone else's work. If you want to use it, ask for permission first. If that person declines, it means not to use it no matter how badly you want to. Try requesting a sig, if possible.

• Have your own image that you want to use? You need an image hoster like www.photobucket.com or www.imageshack.us .

• Make sure that you use a link that ends in a valid format like .gif, .jpg, .png, etc. The link also shouldn't have = or ? in them.

This should help you out. =)
If you have any other questions check out the Detailed Sig Guide.

Make sure that your picture is 500x100 or less though, if you are unsure about the size post in the Signature and Avatar Testing Thread.

^Just to add that it has to be less than 50KB (Internet Explorer uses bytes I think) so if it does think 1000 Bytes = 1 Kilobyte. so the max bytes you can have is 50,000

And also if you want to add a link to your image do
[link="YourDomain.com"][image]http://www.yourimage.com[/image][/link]
There you go :)

This doesn't really help me.
I just want to copy and paste an image into my signature space, but it doesn't allow me to use the paste option.

@Below: Thanks, i should get the hang of it now.

If it's straight off your computer, you will need to upload it onto a pic sharing website(ex. photobucket), but if it's from another website I recommend right clicking the picture and you should get an option 'Open Image in New Tab' something similar to that, and just copy the address bar.

For either one you just use the image tags, [image]>insert address here<[/image] and insert it into your signature.

Actually, here's a much easier way. You can right click the picture, then click "Copy Image Location". Go to your sig bar, right click and click "Paste". After that, put image tags on it.

"Copy image location" then goto your profile search for signature and enter:
[image][/image]

Paste it in-between
[image][/image]

and apply it.

Your sig shows it as trying to pull something off your C disk, you need to upload the picture online and get that address. The "copy image location" tactic only works if the picture is already hosted online.
