If I posted my entry, can I still edit it or not? Will my first post the final one?

You can edit any message, as long as the thread is not locked.

This isn't strictly true. In the Centaur 21 (AQW Housing) contest, players were asked not to edit their post after submission. In the current Name the Great Elemental Dragons contest (DF), it is not encouraged for players to edit their posts after submission as the judges will be looking at the entries as they are posted, so edits might be missed if they are done after a judge has already looked at your submission.

In short, editing to fix minor things such as typos or broken links should probably be all right, but it would be better to read the contest rules before doing so.

Well, you can edit a post as long as it is not locked but than again, if lets say your editing something you posted that would be looked at straight away it won't really differ whether you change it or not as they would be checking it straight up. An example of this would be a contest thread.
