Meet The Staff (Full Version)

Okay, this is a simple idea, and would not need too much trouble in my opnion, just for them to agree to do it.

Basicly, evey now and then, say a year or so, staff members hold a "Meet The Staff" thread for them after the style of the Meet the AK Threads. So, Artix could hold a "Meet The Staff - Artix" thread. It's a simple idea like I said, could be held in a suitable fourm, like Rolith's (If he did one) could be in the DF Fourm, would allow the Fourmites to get to know the staff better, and could give some of the lesser seen AE Team a bit of limelight. The only thing that could be a problem is some not doing it, but if they don't want to, that's fine.[;)]

Why should they kill their precious free time with answering hundreds of questions that would be put in such threads?
In besides, I can swear that half of them would be like "Yo Artix I have this sweet suggestion: blah blah. What do you think?".
They work hard to maked updates for the games each week and they should enjoy their free time relaxing. If they want to do a thread like that they would do it. :P

Like I said before, it's not like they would be forced into doing it.[;)] I just thought I would throw it out there. Plus, it's not like they have to update immediatly now, is it?

Also, just Add to the first post," I am not taking suggestions and any such will be ignored." Simple.

I like this idea but the staff are people just like you, and me. If they wanted to create a "Meet the staff" they are more than welcomed to create one their-selves. Nothing is holding them back from creating one. But I agree, a thread such as this should be made as a bridge to strengthen the trust between the staff, and player community.

why bother meeting someone that you probably wont see at all in the forums?
it would be too much of a bother for them
and ocasionally some of the staff members will have their own Meet the Mods (like with j6, or furore before he was a staff)

Spy, you missed the ideea of this suggestion. Megakyle wants the staff to make a Meet the Mod every year or so.

Spy: You misunderstand me. Like Dragonyugi said, I am not talking about a place for Meet The AK's to be stored, but rather that the staff (If they want to) make a Meet The Staff Thread every once in a while so people can get to know them better.[;)]

Coolboypai: The reason is to get to know the staff better and ask them questions and things. You know, like the Meet The AK threads. And like everyone seems to miss, they do not have to update right away or anything, or do it at all.[;)]

Most people will either A) Spam the mods with useless questions that will not be answered, thus making those who posted those questions angry B) They would flame at the mod for changing something that he/she likes C) If the mods have time to answer questions they should have time to do better releases :l

i dont think they should meet the staff bc it would just be a waste of time. you can just meet them in the game and just ask them questions about anything because im sure they would answer.

this thread must be removed its a bad idea moderators are hard working and making new updates every week they fix bugs but they have no time for answering our questions so they need rest. [:)]

Okay, first off, everyone seems to forget this is only if the staff in question WANT to do it. Second, you also seem to forget that they can update it WHEN THEY LIKE. They would not have to do it instantly, just when they feel like it or have spare time in which they are not doing anything in pacticular.

Having said that, I will adress the main problem that most people seem to have: The spam it MAY generate. The thing is, most of the fourm members are respectful people who would not do such a thing, and mods generaly cacth the ones that are not. Thus, any such spam would probably be minimal at best. And more can be prevented by posting both the rules and an example of questions they will NOT answer, such as "Can I haz Mod?"[;)]

You mean the spam it WILL generate. New people coming to the forum won't know that a MtGS (Meet the Game Staff) is for asking normal, day-to-day questions and not "can i haz membership" or "click this link and do you like mah suggestion?".

The spam won't be minimal. And it will also piss AKs off cleaning all the spam.

Seriously though, how about one staff member does it, and if there turns out to be too much spam, we dismiss the idea, but if not, it can go ahead? ONE test thread should not create too much of a problem if this does occur.[;)]

Huh. I never heard of that. However, While I may have missed something, (I will admit I have not read the whole thing,) I was thinking more along the lines of a more traditional traditional Meet The AK thread, but for staff.

The only problem I see with this is that the staff are very busy with releases. Since this Meet the Staff thing isn't much like a MtAK, where there are probably going to have less replies, it will be filled with tons of questions. It may possibly be manageable, but with a complicated release nearly every week, answering questions will just drain time and maybe even decrease the quality of the release, which I'm sure is not a good trade for answering questions.

Did you guys see that last thread Artix did "Ask Artix" or whatever the thread was.

The thread got over 1000 questions. (thread one and two combined equaled over 1000)

I don't think they want to spend all day answering.

Only suggestion I can think of is compile a list of lets says top 10 questions players would ask. post as a template and if a staff member has time post a thread with those answers vs trying to answer everyones questions. Staff are very busy making the games players love, we love our players too, its just we very busy and some of us not visit the forums as much as others. Players can ask me questions via Twitter ill answer when I have the time.

Seriousely, When was the last time you saw someone do that on the forums.

Anyhoo, I don't much like this idea, Don't they already have MtAK, they could just post one of those in Forum Support or something, then move it to MtAK later. Or it could be called ==Meet the Mod== and be put in MtAK after a while. Just my personal ideas.

Oh wait I broke the rules on your topic, I made suggestions for this idea.
