On Tuesday morning we intend to release a patch with the following fixes and updates:

  • Abuse reporting feature
  • Fixed bug leading to losses and free XP when canceling battles
  • Balance changes (SuperCharge now draws from a "% conversion range" rather than a fixed percent)
  • Buddy list sorted by online / offline
  • Fixed strength buff causing primary and sidearm damage range to appear overstated
  • Added a few more weapons
  • ... more will be added as we finish them ...

    UPDATE POSTPONED!
New date for release: Wednesday, April 1, 2009 4:00am EDT.

We've decided to add a major feature to this patch. We're going to include the new framework that will eventually support armor upgrades. Because this is an enormous change to the system, we need one more day for testing before we can release it. This patch will NOT allow you to upgrade your armor yet ... it will be instead be a test of the new framework we've been working on. Players can expect armor upgrades in the patch following this one. :)

    Thank you for your patience.

DOUBLE POSTPONED! ... we'll make the update tomorrow (Thursday, April 2 at 2:00am EDT).

Sorry for the delay. We worked a 19 hour day to try and finish the features for this morning's patch but didn't have enough time to wrap up testing. Everything is ready to go with the new asset infrastructure ... we just need to make sure it's solid before going live.

Basically, the new asset infrastructure will allow us to grow the graphical aspect of the game much larger than before. We've developed a system that loads external graphical assets like weapons, armors, maps, etc, into the game. Previously, these elements were included within the game file, so as more visual elements were added, the file size continued to grow larger, and the initial load time increased.

With the new system we'll have the ability to add infinite new graphics without bogging down the system or dramatically increasing the initial load time.

Again, sorry to keep you waiting.
