When we open our inbox, we see our friends' names, we should also be able to see where they are in the forums to see what they are doing at that time, not spying, just keeping track a bit.

Well, you can do that with the Active User List already: http://forums2.battleon.com/f/onlineuser.asp

It shows everyone, but it doesn't take too long to spot your friends.

Well then, how about highlighting our own friends in Green or making a separate column for it?

Well, the first column on the left is ticked off if the user is on your friends list, which makes it easier to find your friend(s).
