ArchMagus Orodalf -> RE: Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/14/2010 19:17:42)

WHOLY.. I mean... HOLY GODS! Can it be the Dragons of Unai?

Thanks, Clyde, btw. :P

KERED -> RE: Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/14/2010 19:25:00)

Sounds good!
Hopefully a tough challenge and a high level version of the battlesuit as a reward.

Mortarion -> RE: Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/14/2010 20:32:19)

FInally a new gunner armour [:D], but sadly I dont have the lvl to play the release [:(]

majesticstar3800 -> RE: Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/14/2010 20:50:14)

Ahhhh... I see, the Star Dragons release isnt for AQ [:o][&:][:(]
But I'll never get it, seeing as I'm hopeless with my level 20 and I can't do ANY quests without dying :(

candy.man -> RE: Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/15/2010 0:43:06)

Looks like another single quest release....

arcangelgabrel -> RE: Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/15/2010 0:50:28)

^
It does indeed. Well, no matter, I still have a bunch of quests I have to go through =P. I went to the level 10 level cap, when it was still the cap, and left it to age for a while. Now I'm back, with some good variety to go through. So one quest doesn't really irk me all that much considering how much material I have to poke at *grin*.

candy.man -> RE: Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/15/2010 1:51:47)

It’s still disappointing though. 1 quest monthly releases coupled with the strict level restriction on quests (essentially negating monthly releases for a large group of players for consecutive months), let’s just say this doesn’t put the AQ/WF team in a very good light at the moment…

If I knew quests releases were going to drop to just 1 a month (doesn’t seem like this is going to change anytime soon), I would have never upgraded my character. Oh well, you live and learn....

arcangelgabrel -> RE: Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/15/2010 2:10:19)

I didn't argue whether it was disappointing or not, and I agree that it is, tied in that they have the nerve to also do a fixit release in AQ. The main purpose of the fixit release was to allow them to do a WF release, this has been stated and yet this is what they start doing? Eh, that's not all that good.

ArchMagus Orodalf -> RE: Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/15/2010 6:38:21)

candy.man, there THREE item releases coupled with the quest release. That's part of it. Furthermore, the Star Dragon quest might be like the Unaga quest, with different choices that end up having it be more like 3 quests.

I AM, however, disappointed that we aren't getting a Frostval release, like we did last year with the LaserCanes and whatnot.

arcangelgabrel -> RE: Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/15/2010 6:40:38)

Hopefully you are right. If not, it will make our points stand out even more.

Digital X -> RE: Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/15/2010 9:19:25)

Looking forward to the Scythe as i recently turned back to a Striker, and a new Gauntlet is always handy, (hopefully this one will be darkness).

My secondary should be able to get the armour depending if there is a level appropriate one for him.

Technomancer -> RE: Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/15/2010 9:36:31)

I must say that I am a bit dissapointed. The quest sounds very interesting, and the rewards look promising (scythe's for the win!), but it's still only a single quest. I would at least expect a bit more given that we only get one release a month, and previous releases have been single quest as well. Not to mention that the Commander's arsenal is still not being released ... . With the cap at 89 now, I think we'll outlevel the items before it opens. I'd really like to see that, as well as Ballyhoo, sometime soon.

That aside, I will be looking forward to the release. I'm hoping the new Gauntlet will prove useful. I could use a Darkness Gauntlet. I'll probably pick up the BS as well, just because I expect it to look awesome. :P

@ArchMagus Orodalf: I wouldn't be so quick to say there will not be a Frostval release. Perhaps staff will be adding some weapons/items/quests in later? They have done a 'bonus release' before.

Edit: It seems like they released the quests as normal, and added in those two weapons as a bonus for Frostval in that same release last year. I'm not sure what they'll be doing now, but I find it hard to believe that WF will not be doing anything for Frostval this year. I guess it's a wait and see, though.

Jakau Ryuu -> RE: Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/15/2010 15:10:21)

Looked through the item lists, and it seems 87-89 is a dead spot for items - the only item in WF that's in that range is the Dilithium Warpguardian Crystal tech. It's part of a good line of skills, IMO, but where that's all we currently have, let's hope the new release puts something there. Or, at the very least, that the items fill some sort of gap. But, considering the name "parching" on the gauntlet & weapon, which to me suggests Water-element items, it's a possibility that they will - we have almost nothing for water defense at the moment, and a new Water weapon couldn't hurt - even though Gunner-types would've been better off getting one, considering the best weapons in the only water-element gun line are utterly inaccessible right now.

Also, a battlesuit is always good to have, especially if it has unique effects and a consistent attack. ^_^

Dragonnightwolf -> RE: Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/15/2010 15:45:25)

Woah NELLY and HOLLY Mackerals!

Do mine eyes deceive me or do I see Dragons incoming? YAY! I love anything with dragons!

To be honest frostval didn't have a release for warpforce last year, just 2 weapons, one of which I still have the chill launcher :)

nosey123 -> RE: Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/16/2010 7:00:56)

Now i will be 7 levels away from the level cap. :|

...oh hey, that's a marked improvement compared to the past few months. XD

Star dragons? Bring them on! >:)

Kaelin -> RE: Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/16/2010 18:25:42)

We could really use a Water or Dark Gauntlet, but "parch" seems Fire-related (and we've already got Flare covering Fire adequately at the moment). On the other hand, the Battlesuit could be useful, especially if its secondary elements are different from what Cybertech provides.

DoomBlitz -> RE: Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/16/2010 20:12:02)

Can't wait for this release the scythe sounds promising and dragons = WIN!
Hoping a situation like Technomancer said about a bonus release happening for Frostval =D

Naj -> RE: =WF= Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/17/2010 15:15:06)

Rare Frostval gift items in the WarpGuardian Tower shop: Disc Flinger and Candy Tech Slayer!

The Newsletter might not have mentioned it, but we do get something for Frostval. Unfortunately, it's WG only and Earth element which means I'll only be getting it for rarity's sake. Good to see we did get something, though. :D

As usual, the cap upgrade was live before the rest of the release, so I already capped for the day. I'm gonna take it slow on my Striker this time, so I'll just wait and check out the quest with my Gunner tomorrow.

Edit: wait ... the Disc Flinger is doing Melee damage? I'm guessing that's supposed to be Ranged, right?

ArchMagus Orodalf -> RE: =WF= Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/17/2010 16:53:05)

Yeah, that's a weird thing I saw, too...

Falerin got his facts wrong, no? Traveling at near lightspeed doesn't cause you to go back in time; you merely experience time very differently and end up moving through time slower than those who didn't travel at those speeds (i.e. those of planets).

Jakau Ryuu -> RE: =WF= Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/17/2010 18:03:01)

A warning: The new gauntlet seems to make the game freeze when attempting to equip it.

With that out of the way, it was a good quest, if slightly short. The battlesuit seems pretty good so far, with pretty strong fire defense and what looks to be a stable, one-hit average attack for its level (according to the spreadsheet, 325/325/595) - similar skills to the old Heavy Gunner suit, but with the laserbolt rifle replaced with a firebolt one. They also managed to avoid that annoying "vanishing gauntlet" problem the regular Heavy Gunner suit has. However, its force field seems to be broken, as it only blocks single-digit damage. And there's a typo with the level 72 version, but that's just a nitpick - it ought to be equivalent to level 75, but the description lists it as 73.

Good release overall, really. Shame we still can't get to the Commander's shop.

KERED -> RE: =WF= Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/17/2010 18:09:43)

I thought that was a brilliant mission.

Wanted to play through it again straight away.

Also, will definitely be getting the 3 items, just got the weapon for now.

Very impressed!! [:D]

ArchMagus Orodalf -> RE: =WF= Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/17/2010 18:49:10)

Okay, after finishing the quest...

YES, I was right, the Star Dragons ARE from Unai (or, rather, this was HEAVILY suggested).

Very nice mission, but I wanted a more lore-y quest. =/

Oh, and I was disappointed that the weapon was Melee. I was expecting Magic...

nayrnayr -> RE: =WF= Newsletter 12/14/10 - Robot Birds + Star Dragons! (12/17/2010 18:56:57)

Awesome. This now explains how we can use crystallized dragon's breath in MQ. We also know what Ryusei Cartwright was talking about with space dragons.
