He Who Lurks -> Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (1/31/2011 16:00:18)

Well, sometime in the future I believe that skills should be allowed to be upgraded past 10 since skills like plasma rain or plasma bolt just don't do any damage. If skills like plasma bolt could be upgraded past 10 than they'd be useful again. Of course, limitations would be present. What do you think?

Let's just use in one area instead A Comprehensive Balance Discussion to discuss for balancing. Thanks. :) ~AVA

No , I would not like noobs in 2v2 to have lvl 20 bunker buster and crit me for 70 .
Also , no , I would not like to see str bounties regaining 40 hp back for 1 critted turn . I would not like to see a merc with 26 defense bonus and a mage with +20 gun . Don't want to see a bounty with lvl 20 shadow arts that grats him/her 20% block rate

veneeria -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (1/31/2011 16:05:54)

If going beyond 10th/Max, by occasion, will make the game more interesting and fun.. then why not?

I totally agree.

Ashari -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (1/31/2011 16:11:37)

If the problem is weak skills such as Plasma Rain and Multi-Shot, I think the better solution would be to look at those skills specifically so they'll be on par with other skills. Tech Mage and BH Multis do need help, but the solution shouldn't knock everything else out of balance.

If you increase the skill levels, you'll just have more people putting points into powerful skills like Artillery Strike and the weak ones will still remain weak in comparison to the rest of the skill tree.

Tiago X -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (1/31/2011 16:18:28)

And then we could choose our weapon's stats layout, draw a rainbow on Titan's beard...
Seriously, 10 as max is OK. Mercs with lvl 15 Hybrid armor? NTY!

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (1/31/2011 16:21:05)

Im with Ash and Tiago on this one usally im all for the odd and creative left field ideas(no offence) but if you think one skill is to weak then focus an idea on that skill

and honestly i find Plasma Rain to be fine i could hit 30 damage on a lv 8 four focus F2P build so maybe your just using the wrong style build for that move buddy

IsaiahtheMage -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (1/31/2011 16:30:16)

HECK TO THE NO!!!I would not like to see a SUP merc with a lvl 20 Artilery STrike with 120 support he do what a 75 crit on me?He can almost one hit me! would not like to see a merc with a extra 26 defence bonus and a STr bounty do one hit on me after they smoked and get back 40 HP because BL at lvl 20 aloows them to get 46% of dmg to HP!!This is the most insane IDEA!No not at all.

Lol my lvl 10 alt merc just killed a lvl 15 bounty hunter thx to hybrid xD If they do increase it mercs and BH's will be so OP'ed. Mages... not that much.
Imagine BH's poison ability at rank 20 x.x

He Who Lurks -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (1/31/2011 16:33:35)

Well, we have actually at higher levels skills are much less effective than they are at lower levels. Once you reach level 15-20 your able to knock most of opponents with a single strike, but at level 32 the same skills at the same magnitude are being used. Also, like I said

Of course, limitations would be present.

I'm not saying that all skills would climb in power and also limitations on how you increase your skill would be set. Seriously, be truthful, how effective is a plasma bolt build against a Mercenary?

I hope you do realize that I'm not a techmage right? Not only that but I don't even use a 2vs2 build so why would I use Plasma Rain?

King FrostLich -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (2/1/2011 6:43:46)

HELL NO!!!! I do not want other hunters to have lvl 20 bloodlust and heal 50% of the damage they deal to me like if they hit 24 damage to me, that would mean 12 hp regenerated to them which will be so freaking overpowered.

Silver Sky Magician -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (2/1/2011 7:12:52)

No way. But if you take a less serious viewpoint, imagine level 20 venom strike with 70 tech requirement...

sky222 -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (2/1/2011 7:41:13)

NO!!
Reason:a lvl 20 plasma bolt at lv 20...just get 54 str and 64 energy and put the rest in hp and tech
And plasma does..
85 energy damage
OHKO move at those lvls

nermal -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (2/1/2011 8:48:55)

When the lvl cap will be 100 than why not?
But lvl cap is now 32 (corecct me if im wrong),and lvl skills at higer lvl than 10 will be now overpowered.
Plus you can improve some skills with stat...
So my answer is no.

InTheSky -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (2/1/2011 8:50:34)

lol 100 Dmg Plasma Bolt + Malf, No thanks.

Larcell -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (2/1/2011 9:58:42)

Lvl 15 Reflex Boost & Lvl 15 Shadow Arts....Hell no...

The Doctor -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (2/1/2011 10:10:40)

Although this might sound good (or bad) when you first look at it... well, it's bad.
Think of every overpowered build that's out there right now.

Then, multiply their overpowered skill by two.
Good luck with that.

Thank you,
~The Doctor

He Who Lurks -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (2/1/2011 15:23:47)

Guys, your being ridiculous[:D]. Surely you realize that by allowing skills to go beyond their max I'm simply mean about 3+ and even than only some skills would have that ability.
I love the sense of humor this community has.

Xendran -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (2/1/2011 16:29:29)

Who's up for some level 25 artillery??

He Who Lurks -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (2/1/2011 18:22:57)

^I wouldn't mind that at all. I mean, the requirement must be around 70 so I wonder where the rest of their stats would even go[;)].

lol do you mean by 200 = every overpowered build out there (lets say 25) if you have builds like that then it will increase by 200% becuase how many other builds you could add on to other builds.

Summary of this idea:
Hell noooo i can even think of a build that would pwn in this game
Bh: 15 SA 14 BL and 11 mass (deadly combo right there)
TM: 15 malf, 12 DA *scary with a decent str* and 13 heal... i call hax
Merc: well i dont have to start with this... tooo many overpowered builds already x300% for that
i will never support this this would take unbalance to a whole new level

He Who Lurks -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (2/1/2011 19:41:28)

Seriously, I love how everyone has taken my thread out of context...

Silver Sky Magician -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (2/1/2011 20:33:54)

^

That's what happens if you don't clarify your idea in your first post (in some cases, you need to do so in the thread title).

tigura -> RE: Should EpicDuel Allow Skills To Go Beyond Their Max(10)? (2/1/2011 20:47:18)

You would need some serious requirements.
