Why don't mercenaries just have multi be based on dex...then they would be slightly less OPed. Also now they have a reason for dex. And thus, they are killable with Energy, but...they need another skill that buffs with dex. Maul? It could do more dmg based on tech.

Bh's would be a a loss since their smoke would be less useful due to mercs haveing crazy high dex.

Actually, I mentioned this a few times back in the old ED Forums. Up until today, I thought Surgical Strike improved with Dexterity. As it turns out, Surgical Strike improves with Technology... which means that Mercs don't have ANY Skills that improve with Dexterity? What gives?

Mercs are getting smarter at lower Levels. Bounty Hunters who use Smoke Screen are faced with the unfair obstacle called Hybrid Armor, particularly at lower Levels. The only opponents at my Bounty Hunter's Level that I can't defeat are Mercs with a strong Hybrid Armor. And because Mercs don't have any Skills that improve with Dexterity, Smoke Screen is weak against most Mercs. I can't see why Mercs are still complaining about Bounty Hunters. With Intimidate and Hybrid Armor, they can easily take out any Bounty Hunter.

So, about your idea Lord Sinastr... after considering both the Pros and Cons, I think Artillery Strike should be changed to improve with Dexterity. It would ruin many 2v2 Merc Builds force Mercs in 2v2 to start thinking again. Bounty Hunters would merely have to carry more Energy Weapons, or possibly take advantage of Multi-Shot, Venom Strike, etc. Or maybe Mercs would just stop using Artillery Strike altogether.

However, I doubt that Artillery Strike would ever change to improve with a different Stat, because (correct me if I'm wrong) no other Skill has been changed to improve with a different Stat.

Ok so we have a really strong multi BHS have shadow arts and masscare and Tms have malf and matrix so i don't see what all you are complining about...
And to improve it with dex are you serious We have really good builds for 2vs2 so what BHs have the str build and no one complains about that do they so i say stop you whining and start complaining about something Gosh...

Lectrix If you hate mercs so much and get owned by them there is something simple to do CHANGE TO ONE...

And why we don't have a move that improves with dex i don't know but what i do know it doesn't matter at all that we don't have a move that improves with dex it doesn't make a deffernce if we do or we!

The only thing mercs are good at it high support. Strength=very discouraging blocks. Dex=Useless. Tech=Easily blocked robots, easily critted to death Support=Ownage bazooka followed by ownage multi and ownage healing.

Their class could probably be totally redone, which would probably involve at least one dex improving skill.

Dex can be decreased by BH , so its a bad idea. Mercs multi isnt the problem the problrm is with their aux they hit extremly high dmg and they can gain +55 hp with only 1 field medic .

I personaly am a tank I have the high dex of 96(that is with my weapons bonus) if you did this I could have one of the greatest multis of anyone with my def and res it would make killing me impossible

Lol, our multi has already been nerfed 2 times...Why not just buff multi for BH's and TM's since they seem to be useless without dex/tech overspam?

@charwelly: No... Freakin'... Way. Ever. Become your enemy to defeat them? Not a chance. Why would I become my enemy, after I've fought so long and hard to destroy them?

I have plenty of Battleon Points that are just sitting in my Master Account, waiting to be used. But I will NEVER become a Merc, not if I had all the Varium in the world, not if Mercs became so overpowered that Bounty Hunters and Tech Mages all had to quit, not if Bounty Hunters and Tech Mages were removed from the game. I would simply quit.

@VornWrath: The problem with that idea is Multi-Shot. Then MERCS would be the ones who would complain, mostly because of Blood Lust.

If I had to rank the 3 Multi Attacks on a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being the most powerful, 1 being completely useless:

Plasma Rain: 3
Multi-Shot: 5
Artillery Strike: 11

im fine with merc multi as a tech mage, just use a npc build lol, with like 80 dex and high technician then maybe overload up, and your sweet, with like 80dex and tech

I dont see the need for a third nerf. Come on people, I'm non varium and I can find a good build against these mercs. I just dont understand why variums complain more often when it comes to battles rather than non variums complaining how weak their weapons are.

Because they paid to win and some of them expect that money will resolve all problems and they won't need to make the effort to find good builds.

maybe we could get a move for all classes that lowers support at a set amount of point decrease, such as assimilation does to energy?
