What are the point of swords? They are useable with less skills then any other weapon in the game for all classes. They do lower damage and give the same or lower stats then any other weapon in the game as well. Even Azreal's Bane has less physical attack power then staff,club and wrist blade so what is the point of using swords over other weapons? I will post a weapon comparison below.

NOTE: I am only using weapons currently avilable in game, which are the charfade weapons atm.


Sword:Azreal's Bane
+31 attack
+8 Dex
+8 Tech
+8 Support
10 Enchancement slots
Total of 34 Stats


Staff:Charfade's Staff
+32 attack
+10 Dex
+7 Tech
+8 Support
8 Enchancement Slots
Total:33 Stats

Club:Charfade's Club
+32 Attack
+10 Dex
+15 Technology
+8 Enchancement Slots
Total 33 Stats

Wrist Blade:Charfade's Claws
+32 Attack
+4 Dex
+16 Tech
+5 Support
+8 Enchancement Slots
Total Stats 33

The only advantage the sword seems to have is 1 extra stats and 1 extra placement stat. What the sword doesn't have compared to the other items is the ability to be used with all of a classes skills (Staff=TM, WB=BH, Club=Merc). Also it is lacking on +1 physical damage which is actrually a lot +1 physical damage is basically the same as +4 strength so if you think of it that way swords actrually have less stats then other items. This isn't a qq topic or anything i'm mad about I just want your opnions on why swords are any better then any other weapon type because I don't see how.

So that everybody can enjoy the same thing. Can you imagine the game without Dragon Buster (as an example)?

You are right Sword should have atleast 2-4 stats more.As a Mage i only use sword for Physical DMG and i cant use any skill.Atleast Mercs and BHs using some of their without class specific , What about mage there is no Physical staff + swords only +1 stat more and -1 dmg less.

I find the sword actualy usefull...

The stats are more spread making me able to on more stats.
I'm a Tank Mage using it and for now it works nicely :)

Well i never use a sword even though i have both Azrael and Frostbane (10 k package)
Imo sword isn't good, but for Support Mercs and almost all Tech Mages, it doesnt make a difference...
and Tech Mages can get an phycical primary, instead of overlord staff

Swords now are not as useful but they may add a class in the future that will depend on swords so don't count them out yet.

........... Ya i'm sure they will add a class in the future to go along with the weapons that will no longer be achieveable because they will be rare....

^ Mercs only have 2 weapons paths and thats is Mace and Sword. Currently Mercs is Mace oriented class so I'm not surprised they're putting little into swords for now.

More swords will be released over time but you must wait for now.

Unless they make a job advancement which I see no staff talk about anywhere, I doubt it.

^ well they did add a Class/Skill suggestion so expect some kind of job advancement in the future once the game is out of Gamma testing. Which is usually when games would beginning adding job advancements.

I use Swords because I want to save money in the rare case that I might consider Class Changing. Since Auxes, Guns, and Swords can be used for all classes, the only thing I'd need to buy would be an Armor, which I totally regret not buying Space Warrior Armor - That thing is usable for all classes.

@Crossor: But I does apply to people who don't have Founder Armor, Space Warrior, Beta Weapons, any kind of sword, nor Alpha Weapons.
