If you had to chose one stat that you could leave at starter and have no enhancements on that stat at all and make a normal build with that stat at it's lowest, what stat would you keep down? How much would it effect your best build?

(energy doesn't count as a stat, neither does health in this case)

Mine would be Technology, since if i want more resistance, i switch my Hybrid Armour skill around, and i could do fine without Gamma Bot :P

Same with Digi, I'd go with Tech.
I rarely use any of my mage skills that require tech. - Occasionally Plasma Bolt, but that's all. I would normally use Overload.
I also rarely use the Robot I have. - I regret buying it. I wish I could have bought the Assault Bot instead, but I'm happy I have one anyways. :)

Quite ironic that I get the most +Tech compared to other stats from my weapons. ;)

There is no useless stat. Without str, how can you deal damage with primary or gun, do punches?? Without dex how can you block attacks? Without tech how can you even have resistance for energy attacks and without support, how can you have increased number of healing, deflects, crits, first turn etc. Every stat has their purpose, people just don't know to use it well.

I dont use robot so mine will be technology but there isnt useless stat in game , 5 focus builds has to use robot and tech is important to them.

I agree with Frostlich there is no useless stat.If you remove focus and agility.Whats the point of that?Its just a alternative for Balanced Builds it causes no harm.Agility causes no problem nietheir it stops people from having way to much HP.So they wont be HP spammers.

For mages ,that would be Energy stat . I've rarely seen any high-level good players put points there cos of reroute . Also 48 is a bit high . I'd be fine with 44 . Mages - strength . It's just trash.

For bounties , that would be technology. It's weaker than any of the others , not that it's weak in general.

For mercs that would be dexterity because of hybrid [:)]

Actually I think that mercs need dex quite a bit. They start with 19 dex, which means only 6-8 defense and a rather high chance to be blocked. I'd rather have high dex and low support. I could still have good damage from str and good defenses from dex and tech.

I would leave support at minimum, for the above reasons.

@Illuminator - Mercs definitly don't need Dexterity as much as Mages and Mercs do, though. Between Hybrid giving 13 Defense at max and there being absolutely no skills on the Merc skill tree that increase with dexterity, its not really an important factor to their builds other than block chance.
Tech and Support are a Mercs best stats, imo.

For Bounty Hunters, I would definitly say Technology. They don't need much to have a really effective EMP and a decent Smoke Screen. With armour boosts Bounties can just have 52 - 54 Dex and deal well with energy attacks.

For Mages, I'd definitly say Strength. There isn't any reason for a Mage to have above avergae strength since mages can't make a good strength build.

@nebula; Mercs may not have anything that increases with dex, but like many have said in the past, mercs have the most skills that are dependent on it which makes it very needed in the mercenary community

@others who posted; I know there is no useless stat, I'm asking as a hypothetical and at my own personal interest of this question.

Mine would be the same as Illuminators, and for his reasons too. A nice strength build would do me well and you really don't need support for that.

Definately technology. I just find that I almost never use it in my builds, and since it has no effect othr than resistance, I use an energy armour.

i would keep tech low and just get up technicia with high dex, simple as that :)
