For all people with iTouches and iPhones we should have an app where we can manage our portal account and possibly purchase memberships with in-app purchases.

If you have a phone with an android operating system instead of the apple phone operating system you can already play any AE game on your phone.

The problem with playing AQW on your hand held device is that its too small to do anything, and that was on my EVO 4g with a 4.3 inch screen (bigger than Iphone)

Games like AQ or DF are a little more playable.

I think you misunderstood. I meant that you could manage the portal account and buy memberships, not playing the games, although, playing the games would be awesome.

well you can still do all that with an android phone.

for some weird reason Steve Jobs hates flash. So you will never see flash players on any Iproduct.

MERCY88 -> RE: Portal App (2/12/2011 20:24:59)

yes, this is a good idea ;D

magictable -> RE: Portal App (2/12/2011 21:02:32)

I meant you could use iTunes credit to pay for memberships.

The Forgotten -> RE: Portal App (2/12/2011 22:36:47)

You'd have to convince Apple to allow that. There isn't too much AE can do about other companies' behavior.

Ashari -> RE: Portal App (2/12/2011 23:38:59)

Apple doesn't allow in-app purchases anymore, so there's no way this would pass as an Apple app.

Why don't you just browse to http://portal.battleon.com to access your master account though? The account management page doesn't need Flash to work, so you should be able to use the site on any smart phone.

@below: Oh alright. That would require a deal between Apple and AE, and I don't see why AE would have any reason to do this (Apple takes 20-30% of all iTunes purchases).

magictable -> RE: Portal App (2/13/2011 1:10:43)

You would be wrong. Some of the newest apps have in-app purchases. And also, you're still not understanding that I don't mean use a credit card to purchase but iTunes giftcards you may have received but wanted a membership instead. That's what it's about, not whether or not you can access the site. Plus through the app its easier to see all the information.

As I said before:

What needs allowing? You create an app as long as you pay the 99$.

The Forgotten -> RE: Portal App (2/13/2011 9:14:49)

To use iTunes giftcards on AE merchandise would require some sort of negotiation with Apple . . . and I'm not sure if that's possible. As for the app to access the portal, it seems like a lot of work to design as opposed to just using a browser to access it.

Matri -> RE: Portal App (2/13/2011 16:13:03)

Don't forget that Bladehaven would work quite well as a mobile app.

magictable -> RE: Portal App (2/21/2011 10:56:36)

Still the app would be a great convinience and very useful to have it.

Khimera -> RE: Portal App (2/21/2011 11:02:32)

So basically, you want to be able to purchase things from one company... with giftcards from another company.

Head into Walmart, try buying things with a Borders giftcard. Let me know how that works out.
