Fay Beeee -> RE: The ED team (2/21/2011 17:10:52)

^ Quite a while ago. Left to continue 'HIS' writing career.

Ashari -> RE: The ED team (2/21/2011 17:17:51)

Everyone has their own way of interacting.

Titan and Nightwraith don't have to be in-game and on the forums as much as BigTuna was. What's important is that they are still listening to players' concerns, and if you think they aren't, take a look at Nightwraith's GIANT post about Varium issues. They know what's going on in the community and they know our concerns and that's the important bit.

Titan and Nightwraith's Twitters are still there. Personally I'd rather just hear about the important things, instead of a tweet every 5 minutes about random stuff.

I admit though, I'd like to see a few more posts by the staff alongside the Design Notes threads. No one is asking for night-long discussion, but a few words here and there when some clarifications are needed would play a big part in bringing back that "community feel".

Celestine -> RE: The ED team (2/21/2011 17:34:01)

I agree with Ashari. We don't need them telling us what's happening every single day, that will only deprive them of their work.
A few, short tweets about what they're planning next week is fine by me.
They're a small team, so they can't be on the forums and work on an update at the same time.
For 3+ people, they are doing a great job on the game.

too cheap on hiring staff should get more.

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: The ED team (2/21/2011 19:38:36)

i agree with Ash i enjoyed the days when Titan or Nw or BT would just drop into our discussion on an update topic but we dont see that much anymore and the Update topics we discuss are just quotes of what they said in a different section

Why do you keep saying that? Can you see our finances? If so, will you do my taxes, plzkthnx? :D

Just to add some facts to this discussion: Our staff consists of Titan, myself, and Charfade. Charfade is part time. Titan is the ONLY programmer. Korin is not an ED programmer. He plays quite a bit, but he's not an ED programmer. We're usually working right up until the release date when we do an update, which is why we don't like to announce a specific time, only to get more complaints when we miss the deadline.

While it's true we used to be more active in the Alpha/Early Beta days, that's because we only had about 50 active posters on the forums, maybe less. Now, there are a lot more voices offering a lot more feedback. Titan and I usually answer specific questions on Twitter because it's instant and reaches all of our followers simultaneously, but the forum is a great "melting pot" for ideas and community discussion that we still dive into when brainstorming new releases. I've already listed the ideas that were taken directly from player discussion several times, so I won't go into that again.

I hope this gave you some insight into our methods. Not that by posting here I have an abundance of free time or care more than any other Dev...that's just how I choose to spend my time.

It seems to always be a surprise when staff drops by. Like someone stated in this thread, the staff do listen(watch in this case)[;)]. I've actually had to find that out the hard way. It'd be nice if you'd express your concerns more openly to the community and perhaps give us a taste of what your working on. I'm more concerned about balance at the moment and I've seen members posting about how they're going to solve balance.

I find it very convenient on how you have twitter account so you may give us a imaginary preview of what's to come now and than but I'd find it respectfully better for you to post a bit more often within the ED section now and than. I cannot say the team has been "perfect" but at least your somewhat getting there. Members, within this section post many of there ideas within General Discussion and I believe it would help if they knew whether or not you'd support them.

I just wanted to add my 2 cents[:)]

Snaipera -> RE: The ED team (2/25/2011 15:59:11)

Well , is it just me or since this topic was posted , the team has actually been more active . They're making an effort ,for which I'm really grateful . You really DO listen . Thanks guys . I really don't feel like there's much more discussion that can take place here so lock this unless you think you can actually add something to the already said [:)]. Again ... Thanks ED team !

xxmirxx -> RE: The ED team (2/25/2011 19:33:48)

Nightwraith I am sorry what said to you and staff. just heat of moment I think doing best you can do.

Cinderella -> RE: The ED team (2/26/2011 12:43:45)

Thanks for clearing some stuff up, Nightwraith.

I wanted to comment about the staff's reticence to talk about their personal lives- there has been some problems with telling the players about personal lives, and there's a certain amount of desire for privacy. I know I felt uncomfortable when a player contacted me on my real-life facebook. in the early days of the game, a lot of us knew each other, so it didn't matter.

Gree -> RE: The ED team (2/26/2011 14:00:48)

Yeah, IDC about any personal stuff, but responding to the threads like the balance thread and normalization of stats and weapons threads, etc., would be great. What are Titan and Nightwraiths thoughts on balance currently? That kind of stuff.

Cinderella -> RE: The ED team (2/26/2011 16:19:01)

@Gree just because they aren't replying doesn't mean they aren't discussing it (I've been open about the fact that I know Nightwraith outside of "he's the ED artist", so none of this should come as a surprise)- I discuss balance issues with Nightwraith quite often, but the best and most honest answer I can give is "balance is complicated".

voidance -> RE: The ED team (2/26/2011 16:44:51)

Balance=same And who wants a game where everything is the same.

The funny thing is all the mod's are the ones that use the Oped builds like "Dax", Donna matrix, and Wiseman.

And yes i called you out Dax[;)]

jegaggin -> RE: The ED team (3/7/2011 18:11:30)

0.0 dax and wise isnt too op if i can beat them 50% of the time i think u guys can too -.-

voidance -> RE: The ED team (3/7/2011 18:49:12)

Whoa this is a old topic, but yea i can beat her most times too. It doesnt mean the build she uses isnt Oped.

The Game -> RE: The ED team (3/8/2011 15:32:43)

The last few posts of this thread have been deleted along with several official warnings sent to the offending posters. The forums are a place to foster intelligent and constructive discussion. In our posts, no matter how much we disagree with someone, we NEVER tell someone else what to do, nor do we flaming others for their opinions. This degenerative behavior will stop or this thread will be shut down.
