Giras Wolfe -> Not a very cheerful game, is it? (3/13/2011 23:21:06)

If you take a trip to the other AE games, you might notice there's much less arguing and much more discussion.

Over here, pretty much every thread is a debate? X skill is OP, X class is OP, X luck factor is too large/small, Varium is OP, X weapons aren't balanced, X levels are unbalanced.

The actual game isn't much of an escape either. You or your opponent will often be going on and on about how underpowered they are or overpowered you are.

Since this is a PvP game, balance is a massive point of discussion and anger. In AQW you just have fun, and in MQ and AQ you just fight NPCs.

The only thing they have to argue about is upgrade pricing and NPC strength. Hmm...we argue about that too.

It's just a lot harder to relax and enjoy yourself in a PvP focused game. And isn't that the point of any video game.

If possible, how can this be remedied? Discuss.

lolz we argue about almost everything no updates, updates which are good updates which are bad. we cant stop arguments because it in us humans. it is our habit to share our own views and point about a certain topic. some people agree with our view points but some dont. that is how arguments start.

Ashari -> RE: Not a very cheerful game, is it? (3/14/2011 0:53:33)

Well like you said, a major part of a PVP game is balance. Other games have their storyline, quests and wars to discuss; EpicDuel has player vs. player combat to discuss and the big part of that is the balance (or imbalance). You don't have to get worked up over balance discussion though.

And yeah, you'll get stressed out over the game sometimes... but that's part of any player vs. player game. Unlike other games, you can't always win in a PVP game, but that challenge is part of the fun of this genre. :)

ED's the only game on this forums with competition (AQW has pvp but...... there's not much competition) ED's the only game with such an overhaul of promos, which continuously require players to "support" this game but spend $50 on it......

competition and expensive promos = not so happy community

Elf Priest JZaanu -> RE: Not a very cheerful game, is it? (3/14/2011 2:10:09)

The difficulty with this game is we are not really sure on the direction of the game. This game has so many endless possibilities, and we can only appreciate, and critique on the current issues. Unlike the other AE games, we actually live in a community. There are not many games here who focus on the player and not the game. We know our superstars, and super factions by name. We could name 100 names and see a picture of them within our minds.

With the nature of strong discussions, Epic Duel is a more mature game, and though, at times, we are a bit harsh with one another, we are also give very good constructive criticism.

We could look at the negative side, yet there is also a great positive side too.

I remember the bunny promo, BUY A 20 DOLLAR PACK, GET 4 RARE BUNNIES FOR FREE! (Levels 30,30,15,15.)
Nowadays, I see BUY THE 50 OR 35 DOLLAR PACKS, GET 2 SEASONAL RARE ZOOKAS. (28,28)
Seriously, why do the administrations keep increasing the amount of money? Remeber da good ol' times?

LamentationsXV -> RE: Not a very cheerful game, is it? (3/14/2011 10:12:33)

OMG! Seriously? I'm planning to buy 10k tomorrow. I cuda had 8 bunnies [&o]

Billybunz -> RE: Not a very cheerful game, is it? (3/14/2011 10:26:22)

Lol, yep, and 4 arn't sold in game, and the other costs 2000 varium and 15000 credits, each! And not like the Halloween Zookas, they are All RARE! NOT SEASONAL! Talk about pricy.

Soliqe -> RE: Not a very cheerful game, is it? (3/15/2011 0:53:06)

If people only handled arguments like warriors... If you had a disagreement, you dueled. Whoever won, won the argument. Regardless of how wrong they are. It'd shut a lot of players up too. :|

voidance -> RE: Not a very cheerful game, is it? (3/15/2011 2:53:19)

Lol thats like a oxymoron. People argue over varuim unfairness, so we challenge to a fight to win our argument lol. Kinda defies the point of the argument.

The Bunny Promo required you to use an AE Upgrade Card, you couldn't get them from buying varium normally.

@Lotus So basically the more powerful builds could just own the weaker ones and no one could complain because the winner is always right? Yeah, that's a bad idea.

edwardvulture -> RE: Not a very cheerful game, is it? (3/15/2011 4:02:22)

I'm sure we'd all be happy if loses were not permanent. The temporary sting is probably enough to drive a person to buy varium.

pRopaaNS1337 -> RE: Not a very cheerful game, is it? (3/15/2011 6:05:03)

Well, I left this game, but I`m not crying over it, I just dislike the way it is, that`s all. It`s not about fair or unfair, but simply game is too divided between classes, because one might like one class, but dislike its weapons. To simply put, this game is a quite specific and makes only certain people satisfield, not everyone. But I guess that`s how this game is, it`s all matter of taste.
And about the unbalanced skills - I myself don`t believe in balance beign the only path towards perfection.

Billybunz -> RE: Not a very cheerful game, is it? (3/15/2011 10:04:26)

Well yea but its basicly the same thing. Its like the Rixty repper offer. =)

Matgon -> RE: Not a very cheerful game, is it? (3/15/2011 11:22:55)

Well it is a PvP game after all, at the end of the day everyone is literally fighting ingame for whatever their goal is (1 vs 1,2 vs 2/faction titles), you can't expect everyone to be chilled like in AQW.

Soliqe -> RE: Not a very cheerful game, is it? (3/15/2011 23:02:24)

There is no stronger build... it's the player that makes the build. Not the build that makes the player.

voidance -> RE: Not a very cheerful game, is it? (3/15/2011 23:47:53)

I disagree, yes if you are smart enough you can beat some of the Oped builds but its harder then most other builds. I just wish people would quit using the "copy n paste" builds and get creative instead of cheap.

xxmirxx -> RE: Not a very cheerful game, is it? (3/15/2011 23:57:52)

above

I agree

Clown the Jester -> RE: Not a very cheerful game, is it? (3/16/2011 19:11:20)

I think the best way to end This horrible horrible war between us is have more George Lowe Interactions.

Giras Wolfe -> RE: Not a very cheerful game, is it? (3/16/2011 23:29:00)

You make a good point Jzannu. This game is focused on the players, not the game itself, and it has lots of potential. Maybe I'll check back on that potential in a few months.

Max101min -> RE: Not a very cheerful game, is it? (3/18/2011 9:03:20)

Fay Beeee -> RE: Not a very cheerful game, is it? (3/18/2011 10:42:18)
