kevinlin -> lvling in the future? (3/19/2011 13:10:21)

Right now the lvl cap is 32 and that took me about a week from lvl 31 but when the lvl cap in the future is like 60 will it still be as hard to get from lvl 31 to lvl 32?

Also in the higher lvl we should have sub class because we would have max out most of our moves like shadow art/blood lust/smokescreen/hybrid armor/ etc

Merc sub class would be like
tank- super? like tank or str
Mage - caster-gunner
bh- blade- blood

just stuff that would boost what it says basically

so tank- incresre defense
super- inscrease str (passive)

Mage - caster (less mp to use spell more spell damage) gunner better gun power

Bh blade- something like diamond blade but not as op and blood would kinda be like tank but ur bloodlust can improve/u take less damage

Mad Fact: It took more experience to get from level 30 to 31 than 31 to 32.

Besides I highly doubt we will reach the level 60 soon, not in the next 10 years atleast. ;)

I like the idea of Sub-Classes, but they would be more like:

-Mercenary
-Gunner (Uses skills like Bunker Buster, Artillery Strike, Surgical Strike, etc.)
-Brawler (Uses skills like Field Commander, Intimidate, Blood Shield, etc.)
-Tech Mage
-Technomancer (Uses skills like Bludgeon, Technician, Deadly Aim, etc.)
-Magician (Uses skills like Reroute, Assimilate, Plasma Bolt, etc.)
-Bounty Hunter
-Assassin (Uses skills like Shadow Arts, Massacre, Stun Grenade, etc.)
-Druid (Uses skills like Venom Strike, Blood Lust, Cheap Shot, etc.)

The classes would have more skill than though.

People, believe it or not, there will not be new classes in EpicDuel 1.0, maybe not in ED 2.0 either.

Reasons

  • We would need more primary weapons, and then the whole game would need to be reconstucted from almost scratch.
  • God, that's gonna need a heckload of reprogramming. New looks, 40? new helmets, a new choice for starters, and new class change choice.
  • There will be a mob saying, "HEY I WANT TO BE THAT CLASS BUT IT WASN'T THERE YET SO I GET A FREE CLASS CHNAGE OR I'M GONNA QUIT AND NEVER BUY VARIUM AGAIN." Seriously, that is what you guys do.
  • They need a OP turn too, Bounty Hunters have Smoke/Massacre with MAX Shadow Arts, Tech Mages had Heal Looping back in Beta, and Mercenaries have *FAIL* tanks (Seriously, we Techs can take Tanks out 5/5, stunzerk, and support. Believe it or not, Mercenaries with that...Cupids Bane critical me then critical me on ARticllery, despite the fact that I have 70+ support.

Need any more?

I'm not trying to be a pessimist, I am trying to be realistic. TurkishIncubus's Delta Ranger is good, but they would need a class-specific weapon.

I still hope that Titan, NW, and Charfade will be open to new ideas, and that they will work hard to implement new classes. This list would have to be resolved though, before the class comes out.

I have a pretty good guess as to why the devs are so slow to implement things that tons of people want.

People begged for a physical staff for the longest time, then they released the Overlord Staff which only has 3 fewer stats than frostbane and yet it is branded as one of the worst staves in the game.
People complained about heal loopers for a long time, and then the devs got rid of them, I'll admit not the best way they could have, but they got rid of the build. And then players were mad that heal loop was gone.
People wanted class change, the devs put it in, and then people didn't like it cause now everyone could change class to use the newly OPed build.
People wanted rage to be weaker because of strength builds, they weakened it and now people are mad because they can't do as much damage to tank builds.
People wanted them to buff Bounty Hunters because the class was so weak, they added Shadow Arts and now people say BH is OPed because they get a little bit luckier.
People complained that bunker buster was too weak, they buffed it a little bit (seriously, not very much) and now people complain that it's too strong.
People wanted new skills for each class, they added 1 to each class and people complained that the skill was useless (except SA).
people wanted more challenge NPCs, so they added more, and people complained it was too hard, so they made easier ones, and people complained they were too easy.
They release an update with no/few weapons and people complain there are not enough weapons, so they do a release with a bunch of weapons and people complain that it's only weapons.
People complain that there aren't enough non varium weapons, so they do a release that is all non varium items and people complain that there is nothing new for varium players.

I'm sure there are many more cases like that that I am forgetting. I bet that's why they are so slow to do what the majority wants, because so often it has bitten them in the back for doing it.
It would seem that the players don't know what they really want.

That is some of the things people had objections to, I think these should be fixed BEFORE new class comes in.

BloodRainbow -> RE: lvling in the future? (3/20/2011 16:23:28)

the idea is to add sub classes not new classes entirely, so,

- We would need more primary weapons, and then the whole game would need to be reconstucted from almost scratch.
- God, that's gonna need a heckload of reprogramming. New looks, 40? new helmets, a new choice for starters, and new class change choice.
- There will be a mob saying, "HEY I WANT TO BE THAT CLASS BUT IT WASN'T THERE YET SO I GET A FREE CLASS CHNAGE OR I'M GONNA QUIT AND NEVER BUY VARIUM AGAIN." Seriously, that is what you guys do.

- they wouldnt need more primaries
- they wouldnt need new looks or new starter class, or new class change choice
- so ppl wounldnt have to complain about that

Wraith -> RE: lvling in the future? (3/20/2011 16:29:57)

^I apologize, I may have misunderstood.

Still, we would need new skill trees and looks, or else what the heck would be the point?
