Though some the elements of this feature are annoying and provides a lack of focus away from PVP, I think we all have an opportunity to improve on this feature. I have my personal idea, I will share in some hours; I would like to know yours. Be constructive. This is only for positive thoughts. Any negative feedback, I will ask a mod or ak to remove your post.

Cinderella cued on the core of this feature. The core is bringing new players to the game. Use your mind, and see what you can create.

Yea I agree, the new fame feature is totally going out of control from people always spamming saying "Give me Fame!" If theres a new way to earn fame it'd be better.
Fame as some of my friends told me is based on how good a polayer is not how much his spams on. So i think to even achieve is to accomplish something in game like wins etc.

Or another thing is Fame could be merged with our rating points.

My personal opinion is that fame does nothing but to promote elitism. Also, player's may be offended or disheartened by not receiving any fame at all.

Regardless of whether their intention was a positive one, it's not the smartest thing to do.

I think the fame system should be altered completely and be based off of other factors:

number of wins
luck-defying wins (2 vs 1 wins or other unfair situations)

and other things (can't think up of any at the moment

You shouldnt be able to vote everyday multiple times, maybe 1 vote a day or only be able to vote for the same person once a week.

I agree with lotus some players will get offended, infact i think they should make a faction page for ED, and use the "fame" feature on that instead. Thanks for Reading!

well i find this feature kinda annoying and pointless to a certain extend. Pointless because some players use their alt to increase their own fame yeah some people do that idk y. but it does show unknown people who are not in any leader board. i find that people in any board should just get 30 free fame points every week they are on the all times because they did go into the all times and it takes effort,real life money( for some boards) and time to get into the all times for any board they should be rewarded with fame. each time a person gets into daily 2v2/1v1 board he or she gets 5 fame points.each time a person wins a daily 1v1 or 2v2 he /she gets 15 points on top of the 5 point for in the board. so we would get 20 points in total if we win 2v2 or 1v1 daily. 2nd placer would get 10 points +5 points for being in the board and 3rd place would get 5 points +5 points for being in the board. this would make it better and more related to the game. well that is my idea.

Solution: Remove it.

But if i had to think about it:

-1 Vote per 3 days from the same character (You need to log in to vote.) and from the same IP so people don't make multiple accounts. And if they went through all the trouble of making multiple accounts and reseting their IPs they obviously care way to much about this game.

-Remove it from the leader boards.

-Block any form of the words "fame for fame" from being typed in game.

-Delete all comments on profiles asking "fame for fame"

They should remove fame leader board to stop beggers and spammers.

And maybe also remove facebook comments on character pages, all I see is spam "Fame me, my name is ..."

1) Remove the Fame leaderboard. It provides no useful game feature and encourages begging in game.

2) Allow fame ratings only after you have battled. Once a battle is over, have a button pop up similar to the annoying button that leads you to purchasing varium. If you want to add fame to that player, this would be the appropriate place to add it.

3) Have a delay on how fast the fame is added to the players character page. This would allow players to claim they added fame without visible proof. At least you could defeat the begging by saying you already famed them and they have no way to verify it.

4) The best idea and least likely to be implemented would simply be the removal of this annoying feature.


Implementation of any of these suggestions would be helpful IMHO.

You dont vote by account, you vote by IP address so people cant spam their main account with Fame votes daily.

Fame should be only in charpages not in a Leaderboard

It will be unfair to the ppl who dont play battles but famous in game , fame in char pages is a good thing but LB come too early , ppl like me tried to be in a new Leaderboard so we do "Fame For Fame" , removing the LB is the best solution maybe after 2-3 years admins can put it back so the fame difference with the famous ppl and fame spammers will be much.

I agree with Sparticus remove this silly thing. We already have star ratings based off achievements, why do we need a fame feature?

Dev's need to just cut their Losses and just change the Fame leaderboard to the All Time Rating leaderboard.

@Void , I Agree. A rating leader board is much more appropriate because it encourages in-game play. People would then start getting more competitive in battles in order to obtain more battle tokens. This would also be another incentive for varium (Battle Boost) bringing in more cash for ED.

I am sorry Jzaanu but I have no positive comments to make about fame. I have NO idea on how to improve it apart from removing it.
As was stated above the star system and rank system already proves who is who.

If they want to introduce just a social aspect into the game for players who only log in to chat then give them a chat server only. On that chat server put the fame leaderboard. That way it stops people begging in all the battles and every time they see us at a shop etc. There ... I gave a positive comment. ;)

I don't think that it would help to only have fame attached to battles- it's working well to introduce others to the game, and it's working as a viral marketing tool. The fame griefing is a problem, and possible solutions include excluding staff from the leaderboard (as staff have been excluded from the rarity leaderboard). Many new features are met with a knee-jerk reaction, and hopefully the fame griefing will die down as the novelty wears off. However, to maintain the value, there will be an achievement associated with fame that everybody can get.

A easy way to fix it is, just make it where it can be reportable under Harassment after so many Plz's or any other type of Fame begging. And when i mean reportable i dont mean you report and nothing happen, i mean it actualy mutes them for a said time.

There must be a hidden agenda behind this fame thing for EpicDuel itself.
I just have a quick question ... does EpicDuel in some way benefit from the amount of times that a character page is opened? I can't help but feel that this somewhat unwanted feature is not entirely for the benefit of the players.
Whilst it might in some way draw new players (don't ask me why) it can also cause depression for the more timid players who feel that their meagre fame score reflects how supposedly unpopular they are (which is far from the truth). Psychologically this is disturbing the way it is.
Jzaanu if you have any good ideas on how this feature can be improved then please take it to the admin.
