One Winged Angel1357 -> Epic...Duel? (4/3/2011 16:57:10)

This is something that just popped into my mind like 10 minutes ago and now ive got to ask you guys, well the older players of ED becuase the newer players dont have the same base of the game but can feel free to comment anyway.

Is Dueling still the main focus of Epicduel or has it been pushed off to the side in way of all the new material.

I think Dueling has taken a backseat in ED that socilizing and Begging are more front line of ED instead of sitting there and beating the snot out of your buddies to prove who is the best.

DeathGuard -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/3/2011 17:16:34)

Battle modes has change a lot, I remember in early beta mages got the advantage and won with spellcaster builds, it was fun because all won no matter what class, battle records didn't matter,they were few spammers and guys calling noobs. I miss that time , now this game has become a contest of popularity and who is the best.:/

King FrostLich -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/3/2011 18:53:56)

I used to remember myself having all energy weapons. It was so fun back those days that I heal looped, defeated level 30 founders so easily when I was level 27, and alot more civil.

PumKing -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/3/2011 18:58:46)

dude, back in beta it was supah fun, i was even able to hold my own as a mage in a 2v2 match, with the baic staff that you coame in with (as a lvl 1), now I've become a merc, and I feel like a total jerk now because it's really the only way (for me personally) to get consistant wins, and I feel like the game is totally all about whiners wanting fame, the love just feels gone

InceptionAE -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/3/2011 19:00:30)

Today in ED, Titan has become too greedy, it is no matter his care that we should have fun, it is a matter of how much money we give. This game is no longer a F2P or PvP.

Im done with this discussion, bye.

veneeria -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/3/2011 19:02:18)

I still like beating up senseless my friends and ally's.. but then again i don't have anyone to prove myself.
But yeah.. now is the huge race for fame.

x666satan666x -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/3/2011 19:35:14)

fame is pathetic. IT IS IN ALL SENSES, killing this game. i used to enjoy poping into oz 7 to maybe see an old friend or have a random conversation. but all you see is the famers. in matches either they say " plz let me win, ill fame you, or "FAMEZEZ4FAMESZ" there trying to take everything from this game, agility, focus, skill restrictions, warkills, fame everytime i log in something get worse. i hope the devs can stray from this path and get back to the basics. GOOD OLD PVPing. we came here to pvp

Light Stridr -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/3/2011 20:25:13)

We are still waiting for 2v1, am i right?

Angels Holocaust -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/3/2011 20:36:39)

Did you forget? This is now myspace or Facebook.

Fay Beeee -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/3/2011 20:47:05)

While I do not like all of the features, I do like the majority of them.

you can please some of the people all of the time
and all of the people some of the time
but you can't please all of the people all of the time?
This is a quote from Abraham Lincoln.

I think this holds true for ED.

I am one that is pleased most of the time. For me (imo) that is a good achievement for an international game. Very difficult to strike the right balance. Keep up the good work guys. :) If it is something that I like less, I will.......... what is the expression
Ah yes.............suck it up
:)

Wraith -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/3/2011 20:53:39)

Fay Beee, you cannot be more correct.

I am always happy with the game. After all, it is not EpicDoQuestsandGet2vs1andOtherNewFeaturesDaily, it is EpicDuel. As long dueling is fair, which it is, I will be pleased.

Before judging this game, look at the name. And "Never Judge a Book by It's Cover" applies to this game. Not only do you get to duel, you ALSO get to meet friends.

Xendran -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/3/2011 21:11:19)

Anybody who says duelling is fair has not done their math class.

OhMyGoshness -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/3/2011 21:13:40)

You guy's are overreacting..
Yes, fame may be a horrible idea but dueling is still this game sno.1 priority.. Dont tell me that anyone goes online just to get more fames LMAO..
And @FrostLich, Those must be the most brainless people i know if they get beat by a nonvarium lvl 27

And guys please don't say we came here for PvP, if you did then why dont you.. No one is forcing you to focus on these fames.. If you see someone say fame for fame, why dont you ignore them?

Sure there are some balance problems but its not like the Devs are doing this is purpose..
Let me ask you something, If you had a game and it was quite successfull, would you drive away your players by making the game unbalanced?..
And if you did, wont you want them back?..

King FrostLich -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/3/2011 21:20:04)

@above:

Yes it's true, most people never knew how to make builds. The azrael mages who didnt know heal looping at that time had 74 hp and a lvl 1 heal with only 6 reroute. 90% of founder mercs resorted to field commander builds while hunters had str builds ranging only until 64 strength at maximum. It was so easy to beat people 3 levels high than you in those days.

IsaiahtheMage -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/3/2011 22:23:04)

@Cyber Bakio Its called evolution my friend. ^^

Shadronica -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/3/2011 22:32:25)

@ One Winged Angel. Yes well for me the duelling is still the main object of the game. Obviously not everyone thinks like me.

Its a much different battle arena to what I remember back in early beta. The stat inflation has made the battlefield quite hostile with high physical and energy damage done by all different kinds of builds.

If only the battle engine was running true I would be able to stay abreast of the stat inflation by build adjustment. However, I find that there is far too much inconsistency to be able to confidently go into battle and know exactly how my build will work these days.
Even if you made a blunder in the old days in a battle you could still make up for it and win. Not these days .... one mistake and your a deady. X.X.

I do wish that our game developers would revisit the actual PvP side of the game.

I don't mind doing some quests but the missions are a bit cheesey for me challenging players to duel me is not something I feel comfortable doing so I would much rather see a new PvP game mode.

Danny J -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/4/2011 10:18:40)

Well the thing is that i dont think this game is gonna be more succesful before 2v1 has come and Mercenarys are nerfed. And yea those who thought Duells are Fair *In this game* They probably havnt finished their math class..

Smackie El Frog -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/4/2011 12:33:34)

Xendran...since you are so good with math class maybe it is time to move onto English 101. However I agree, almost all of the new releases haven't given us anything in terms of battling and basically every world and every screen someone is saying "Fame 4 fame," but don't get discouraged people! I hope in the near future things will change for the best and battles will once again feel new and different.

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/4/2011 20:45:07)

@Shad i dont feel hostile is the right word to describe battles.

Suffice to say in Beta you cuold make a build look at the enemies stat page and make a semi-accurate battle plan, this does not go for current day to many factors to figure out in 15 seconds unless you are a computer.

Now the fights are unpredictable to say the least the enemies are mostly hostile in nature but some are good willed and others are silent so its not to say Hostile is the wrong word it just doesnt sum everything up its more unpredictable then anything.

@Angels you should have a look at the ED facebook page in games/toys its full of Fame me comments

@Frosty The lv 27 beating a lv 30 founder ask beastmo about that he will denine it everytime but i won(caster power). In beta skill outplayed the rule of level or even Varium in ED becuase you could be a varium tank with little skill and be outplayed by some noob and lose(sometimes in a crushing defeat)

@anyone i didnt name by name im not saying Dueling isnt part of ED its that its taking some turns and some times its being a punching bag insted of dueling and other times its a fight to the bitter end and other time you are standing around at Oz world 7 for hours on end just chatting it up and reporting spamming Fame 4 Fame people but ED isnt really putting effort into the PvP engine and its being unstable so to speak. All the while we are getting quests fame and that new engine is coming into ED according to NW and Titan but i belive the damage is done and will take effort to fix.

Fame was shot down on EDF in early beta(as a player suggestion) but there is no EDF up to show that anymore(or i just cant open it)

Aere -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/5/2011 21:10:09)

Smackie, re-read your post and observe the hypocrisy stated there.

EpicDuel has become MORE so about dueling. The game is progressing with a speed comparable to freaking iPhones, or just Apple products. A new object will come out, and you NEED to get it, or risk falling into obsoleteness. If you don't buy at least 20$ worth of varium every few months, you'll miss out on that super-awesome-next number one weapon (FrostBane, Azrael's Bane, now Celtic Cleaver). Funny thing is, these weapons are obsolete in under half a year.

Huh.

Smackie El Frog -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/6/2011 9:58:42)

Oh Aere Frostbane is never obsolete. Its getting close to being 1 1/2 years old and its still extremely epic. But frosty and those other ones you named are still not the "super-awesome-next number one weapon." They are great in there own respect, but definitely not the best out there. The best weapons are always class specific and not the promotional item in the 10k package. Those weapons are stepping stones to help the rich players get to the level cap for the best weapons.

Zean Zapple -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/6/2011 13:45:49)

Eh I don't like complaining, but you got a point OWA. Socializing is now a bigger part of ED than it should be... Oz World 7 is a place I usually only stop by once in a blue moon.

~Zean

LunarWarlord -> RE: Epic...Duel? (4/7/2011 4:23:01)

i totaly agree with you, and i to have made a post reguarding this, back in beta days they had their convos during the battle, not sit around all day talking ;P even though i have no promblem with them doing that, i do have a promblem with all these noobish beggers... they need to limit begging to 3 times a day or something that will shut them up... ( no offence beggers ) ;D and 666satan666 i agree with you as well... jumping to oz world 7 as soon as i logged on. and watching my good friends, allys, and faction members having funny, and random convos xD.. ahh the good days i miss them so much, i would do nearly anything just to be back in beta days for one day... i will never forget those days.
