@Duskstar, Kamui just explained that penalty for dual elemental seeking is that bonus hit to player. There are no more penalties than just that.

^He did indicate that Xrai...I don't think those numbers for the blowback damage are correct. Using the numbers for the level 136 version as an example, assuming 200 INT/DEX/LUK and 82 AMD, that would cause on average 49.395 DPT in blowback damage. It isn't hitting anywhere near that. I think, based on testing, that it is dealing 9% of ONE HIT of normal spell damage. Base: (156/4).09= 3.51, rounded to 3.5 Max: (468/4).09=10.53, rounded to 10.5 Stat= (1017/4)*.09= 22.8825, rounded to 22.9 Using those numbers, and 100% resistance, it comes out to be 12.344 DPT (87% accuracy), or 13.870 with 100% accuracy. These numbers are very very close to what I'm seeing out of the blowback damage. Hang on...seems that may be a bug.
