Hey Chaos, we've never met but i've been playing for a while myself, and I can say that you are a legend to this game. And I agree with you 100%. I joined this game because it was different from other AE games. I loved the pvping, the creative builds, and most importantly, the freedom. Now that type of game has virtually disappeared. And I truly hope that someone in a high up place reads this and turns this game around. We have had the 3 classes forever, why not implement a 4th? Why not add more skills? Why not add another Stat Category?(Str, Dex...) When Titan says he's just testing the balance of the game, he implements dumb crap like focus, like stat requirements, when he should really be going to the EXTREME to find some major balance changes, not the small things. This is still a testing phase, i.e. GAMMA. And I know some testing may get out of hand, but that's no problem, just learn from the mistakes and fix them next week. And finally and most importantly I hate is the NPC thing.I feel NPCing should not affect your Win percentage. Its total bull. It is basically saying, that you can have no skill, and basically have as many wins as you want. Which I find sad and disheartening. This game used to be about who was the best, not about who had the most time. It was a small community, and everyone basically knew everyone at the top, and it didn't matter if you had 100 wins or 10,000. If you could beat the best, your name was known, and your reputation was formed.
That was the EpicDuel I loved, and the EpicDuel I hope to see come back.

wow, blast from the past.

Chaos- I'll try to address some of your points (a lot's changed since Alpha, for one thing, I'm staff now).

At this point, it's unfeasible to reset everybody's wins to extract NPC wins from PvP wins.

I think that specialist classes and expanding the current classes are still a possibility, but certain adjustments needed to be made to advance the game beyond its current levels, including branching out with classes and class-based achievements. We ARE adding more features, more mission types, and basically more things to do to in the game.

Being part of a larger company means that there is a balance between features we want, features the players want, and features the company wants- as it is with ANY company of this kind. It's not a unique situation.

^^Hey haven't seen you in a while Cindy :P. But what's your take on the NPC'? Do you think we should have a leaderboard without NPC wins? I agree, resetting wins is drastic, but how about simply allowing NPC wins to count towards total wins but creating a sepearate board that shows PVP wins. And not even challenges, just truly clicking the 1v1 or 2v2 button and fighting a random opponent. That honestly would promote competition and actually show us who the true skilled players are. It'd be a feature worth working towards I think.

Actually, truc, the first person to be first on the 2v2 leaderboard was me. Then the semester started.

@Clutch- I was out of town today. I was around yesterday. :P

I actually don't really like it- defeating an NPC is often harder than defeating another player, especially at lower levels, and with the limitations placed on NPC challenges it's almost a moot point. But that's just my opinion, the royal Our opinion may change in the future.

At the lower levels I agree yes, but at the higher levels not so much. Ask anyone lol, they would honestly say that their win percentage would plummet without NPC's. And adding a new leaderboard wouldn't affect the lower levels at all. I'm not saying take away NPC's or don't count them as wins, but adding a leaderboard that shows in my opinion, 'true skill',would be a neat way to promote competition and actually create a want to win every single battle. It is still the testing phase of the game, and I don't see how it could hurt the game in any way right? I say we give it a shot! :P.

Chaos1x we all know you are an alpha legend ,

but we need npcs wins for make our ratio higher because higher ratio means less ppl get angry because of unlucky battles and sometimes i dont want to play strategical and play for relaxing (for reminder we only can do 15 NPC per hour so you need to play 1vs1 to be successful )

and more classes and skills equal to more unbalanced game , we want more classes too but this is the last thing we want for now

^ because 2v2 alltimes is the 2nd board people dun bother to click the button to change the board that is why 1v1 alltimers are much more apreciated by the comunity. oh well.

back to topic: ncps are good they should just remain in person records because they help a person get a good %.

here are more problems that the devs should fix pronto.

1) 2v2 unfairness. 2v2 has been broken since idk lvl 31 was introduced. unfair partnering has to stop the lvl gap of 5 lvls is not so good they should reduce it to 3 lvls.
2) 2v2 faction unfairness. yes ever gotten a partner which from say blah blah faction and 1 of the enemy is thier faction mate yeah u might notice either u lose a partner or the opponent loses a partner. so the devs should preven faction mate from entering the same battle. this would make things fair.
3) NON varium to varium unfairness. non variums have not gotten any weps in ages. thier armor are outdated and enhancements made things worse for them even if the credit prices were droped.
4) LAGS. yes. the devs did say by locking the servers there would be lesser lags but hell no there is more lags than ever. Squeezing players into 1 serever would not reduce the lag it would cause more lags. If the devs want to save money by locking the server i rather the devs tell us rather than beating round the bush telling us false informtion saying that locking the servers would just reduce lag. they really have to fix this lag problem. I really feel angry when you miss a turn in 2v2 or 1v1 just because of the server lag because 1 turn could make the battle longer in 2v2 and 1 turn could cost u a win in 1v1 or 2v2.

I agree on the two above. I think fame, rarity, and war kills leaderboards are completely bogus and make being on the leaderboards less valuable.


Also, I personally prefer 2v2 because 1v1 appears superficial due to NPC bashing. At low levels, NPCs may be more difficult than a player opponent, however, ask any level 32 or 33, battling the shadow guard is significantly faster and easier than battling another high level.

I suggested this to Titan before, in beta and the old forums, but I think that ED should just cut their losses and stop adding NPC wins into people's records. You do not have to change anybody's record by subtracting NPC kills, just stop NPC farming from now on. NPCs should just give experience and credits and nothing on the record.

If your garbage at the game and lack the brain capacity to create a good build then YOU DO NOT deserve a good win %.

This game is no longer competitive. i was proud of my 85%+ winning percentage, because it meant something.

What motivation is there now to be on the leaderboard? All 10+ of them are completely pointless and useless. they just show the amount of time you invest into a certain thing.

If you like NPC wins and feel nice and warm every time you win, thats fine. but some of us are actually competitive people that strive to become better.

You think i respect or admire the current 1 on 1 people? Of course not. for all i know 90% of there wins are Fake. there is no way to tell how good some one is.

Before if you go owned 5 games in a row, you where like o this games competitive im gonna try and see what i can do to become better and stop loosing. When you saw me on the leaderboard and saw my 80%+ win% you where like o this guys must be really good im gonna see how i can become that good. Now people are like o i lost and my win % is no 20% i guess ill go fight 50 npcs and feel good about my self.

This game is a complete joke now. peoples npc wins should be removed from there 1 vs 1 records, If that does not happen for what ever reason the next best thing is Removing everyones 1 on 1 wins and starting from scratch.
Btw i have no interest in coming back to ED regardless of what happens.

If you want to cater to insecure noobs who love there fake wins, thats all good and fine, But dont punish competitive players.

O and btw to clear things up i was not the first person to be first in 2 vs 2 ( the first person was the first to win a 2v2 match ) what i meant was that i was the first and only person to ever be first in 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2 at the same time.

Ps: Cin gratz on becoming part of the staff. Cant believe you stuck with epic duel all this time.

I think best you stop comment here. cause you have no clue how this is so much advances since you left. btw fay and blue can beat your ass without npc. there both better then you only reason you stop play cause angels was beating you in december. And to be honest 80 percent was crap you had advantage as mage. I bet I can do better then you in same time you started. I am way smart then you when comes to battles. npc are way to improve the player btw they just made npc harder then b4.

btw the purpose is to make the game a good game. where you have to actually be good to look good.

if wasn't for healing loop gone I wouldn't need it and real pro use robots come on. At least I have no robot to get my wins. btw way I did same left game cause no longer was fun. I am on forums alot cause psn down suks. I got new goal get my name on psn boreds but I kbow that would be hard.
