He Who Lurks -> Is There A Difference Between Unbalanced And Over-Powered? (5/9/2011 15:23:59)

And what is it? I believe there is no such thing as being over powered in this game, however it is made evident that certain play styles may be unbalanced. A example of mis-interpretation of being over powered to me would be robot build. Just about anyone with a robot can use this bot to the same extent, regardless of class. Bounty hunters may heal greatly with bots, mercenaries become extreme offensive tanks, and Tech mages are the only class who have the ability to raise their bots power with one of their skills. Just because a build does fearsome damage doesn't exactly mean it's over powered as I can say your build may probably be under-powered. This argument has been raised many times. "Am I Over Powered Or Are You Under powered?", this does not get us anywhere. We refer to bot builds as "brainless builds" but how can we be sure that these type of builds aren't just a genius build? How can you say bot builds don't require strategy? Perhaps it's the case of, "Your Build Is Better Than Mines, Maybe It Should De-buffed". Let's take another point into observation. If you see a player with your average Medium strenght, high dexterity, and technology, with low support build, you would not call it over powered and perhaps you wouldn't call it a no brain build. However, another player with that same build goes and starts winning matches like crazy, you'd be quick to call it a no brain build. I believe the way the community decides to call out builds that seem over powered have something to do with physiologic thinking. What do you think?
