edwardvulture -> Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 1:16:11)

I'm pretty sure some of you remembered Angels thread about removing win ratios. For most of us, they get in the way of fun. Today, I tried to do the challenge missions and most of them denied me because of the fear of losing. So today I offer this thread again in hopes that it gets massive support and that loses Arn't permanent.
EDIT:Btw I'm not trying to copy her thread because had the idea before i saw her thread.

DillBagel -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 1:37:43)

Supported.
They also need to get rid of build viewing.
I hate people copying builds to the point that everyone has the same thing.

Silver Sky Magician -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 6:13:39)

^

How exactly how you supposed to battle if you can't even see your opponent's stats and skills?

Matgon -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 6:41:43)

I have the same problem with the challenges almost no one accepts my challenges.... why can't we do it by ramdom 1 vs 1's?

Nebula -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 6:58:29)

@Dillbagel In all honesty, that's a stupid idea. Just like Silver Sky Magician said, if you can't see your opponent's stats and skills you're going to be clueless the entire battle. You aren't going to know what move you should make first or how to play against your opponent's build at all.

Fay Beeee -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 7:03:25)

I had the same problem with the fight challenges. I had to do them over a few days.

LambO -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 7:29:46)

If loses shouldn't be permanent then wins shouldn't be either.
(Would like to see how that goes down)

I love my Win Ratio & I wouldn't want to mess it up. I have worked hard for it, battling players & NPC's.
(34,450 wins 1885 deaths - 1v1)

Can't come with a silly excuse for people not wanting to get challenge. Some like to full NPC to keep a good record, some like just to do 2v2. Some people like to do 1v1 just by the button & others like to challenge people. Just because it takes longer to finish a mission doesn't mean we have to get rid of losses to do so. I like my record & I want it to stay as it is. Getting rid of Loses then this game wouldn't be a PvP (Even though you still face other people) What's the point though? Even having lots of wins & 0 deaths... That would purely suck.

Only thing that might need a change are the mission. IF they take too long to complete.

drinde -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 7:48:35)

Why not only show Build Info during Battles?

Also, there should be a Button to Show/Hide your Stats outside a Battle.

Luna_moonraider -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 7:52:22)

do not impliment wat angels suggest u angels suggested class chnage and wat do u see class hopper her ideas will cause the game to become worse.

Sparticus -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 8:12:18)

I don't see any reason to show losses. I didn't say that they shouldn't count them, I just suggest that they don't show them. Your character page only shows your wins and no one is complaining about that? Don't show the total battle fought and don't show the losses. Those numbers can still show up in your inventory list just like they do now. That way no one but you can see them. If you want to show it then post your inventory pic. When it comes to viewing a players info shot with the skill tree included just fix the bottom left box to only show 1v1 and 2v2 wins. That would finally put an end to many of these problems.

I have an impossible time getting a challenge match even from my friends. No one wants to fight me so I never did get those missions done.

Angels Holocaust -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 8:58:01)

@ Luna

My ideas are great, they not only benefit the players but the community as a whole so please consider them before you bash them.

Sageofpeace -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 9:01:14)

angel i would usually agreed with you but this was is horrible i though you were talking in sarcasms when you suggest taking out the losses

DillBagel -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 9:19:57)

@Sky magician and nebula
It takes the fun out of the game when you can predict your opponents every move. You wouldn't play a real video game and look whether someone has this or that. This game si extremely boring to play when you look at the build. Try playing something other than flash games and you'll see that.[>:]

Where trying to reduce luck not make the game revole around it. Your idea is horrid. How are you suppose to know how to beat your opponet or know what your teamate can do if you remove it? You will never know anything. You wont know any stats or any skills they have or what their defense/resistence is that is such a terrible idea.

^But you do realize that we cant do anything. We will all have terrrible win/loss ratio becasue we will be totally clueless about everything.

DillBagel -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 9:23:47)

This game lost it's "Strategy" game aspect a long time ago anyways. And excuse me for water to play without getting bored out of my mind. No actual strategy game I've ever played shows you everything about a player, and I prefer that.

IsaiahtheMage -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 9:30:33)

@Dillbagel So you prefer to be totally clueless about your opponet and teamate in 2 vs 2? So you have a strategy and they use EMP and now your done for but you couldve avoided that if you saw their stats. You prefer to go into battle not knowing anything you basically hope you can get lucky and hope they arent a level 33 varium beast. If they are you cant see their beast stats your screwed.

Sparticus -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 9:30:40)

Wait a minute, this thread went off the tracks.

The original OP stated clearly "get rid or win ratios"

All this discussion about hiding skills and stats is NOT what this thread was originally about and not where the discussion should be going.

Stick to the OP: What is the harm in hiding JUST the losses, total battles and win ratio? (That way you can't figure it out either)

edwardvulture -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 17:57:19)

^Yeah there is no harm. Making players feel good is what a game is suppose to be and how do you do that when all your loses are recorded permanently? (NONONON DON"T MAKE THIS ANOTHER VARIUM OPTION)

H4ll0w33n -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 19:17:40)

I also suggested this in the old ED forums,
Supported,
they should only take out losses, total battles, and win % so people can have fun.

BloodRainbow -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 19:54:41)

i think it would be a good idea to hide the loses and total number of battles, just like it is on our character pages. the only problem with takin out he win % is that if someone gets 500wins a day with 100% because they've been dummying like crazy, how r we suppose to know?

and to you people that are saying hiding builds is a bad idea, because you wont know how to fight you opponent. how do you fight npcs boss or regular. we cant see theres and we all manage to do just fine against them.

DeathGuard -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 20:19:37)

Losing is just another part of life and it can't be escaped. We gain experiences through it and I don't support that it must be taken.Anyways records doesn't matter at all, if someone does, is his/her problem not yours so feel conformtable even if you win or lose.[:D]
Winning is not always the same emotion.

edwardvulture -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/11/2011 20:27:03)

No but this is a game and we are all trying to have fun. Removing loses would help us achieve that. That is why this is a good idea. But the suggestion I posted on the suggestions forums also brought out another idea where you can check your daily percentage which would reset everyday to check your progress and stuff.

DillBagel -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/12/2011 1:31:05)

Thank you for your awesome point BloodRainbow.
If people are on top of the leaderboard, their percentage is usually pretty good. So showing there record for "anti dummying" purposes would be just fine.

Defiant -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/12/2011 2:34:51)

I'm guilty for this. I am scared to click that 1v1 battle because I'm a level 29 and I tend to get full varium 32/33's..
So now I have started playing again, I'll battle 5-15 NPCs and work towards challenge missions to keep my record healthy.
Supported.

LambO -> RE: Players too concerned about win ratios? (5/12/2011 6:10:40)

Seriously, you guys joined this game cause it was PvP.
Just because some of you're records suck doesn't mean loses should be thrown away. (Don't mean that in a nasty way)

The only way is to hide you're Loses & WINS, until you get on the all-time board.
So people can actually see you're Win ratio.
If this game lost it's fun due to Loses, then this would of been posted a very very long time ago.

I don't play AQW & spend time on a drop, if it doesn't drop I don't post saying I'm not having fun cause nothing is dropping. I suck it up until the drops comes to me.
All you need to do is suck up & make you're win ratio better...

It really is silly people wanting loses to be gone. It's a PvP game you cannot always win. You joined because of the PvP, why should it change? This game isn't for you if you think loses make you sad & this game no fun..
I haven't played this game since august last year. Because of the releases I'm bored of, not the PvP, lol.
