Remorse -> When will Mercs be Nerfed?? EDITED (you'l like the Edit) (5/12/2011 13:02:34)

Mercs have become too strong in 1v1 since the recent stat progression nerf as their 5 focus medium high tech and support build is almost a never fail, i have thought of every build in the book to try and counter this one but unlike all other overpowered builds of ED's history this one has almost no weaknesses ,if played right. sup Mercs wre useless without mana, heal loopers wre usless without thre heal, but tech focus mercs are almost unbeatable in a fair fight.

Not only that but mercs have also bean dominant in 2v2 for as long as i can think of , and the new 2v1 battle mode ,it's obvious that mercs will dominate that aswell as i doubt the merc's opponents will hit anything other than 3..

So i say it's about time u nerf them once and for all,

P.S If anyone finds a BH build that beats smart varium focus mercs without luck please tell me im really interested to know.


EDIT: Alot of posts In this discussion have mentioned valid points such as thre is no way to nerf them without affecting us all, so how about mages and BH get an buff, I say we should get an Improvement in our attack skills such as Plasma bolt, Overload, Stun grenade, Cheap shot, MUlti Shot, Supercharge, etc. The reason for this is because the main diffrnce between mercs and the other classes is that merc's attack skills are actully useful In battle eg. artillery strike is powerful and reliable and is used well in 1v1 and 2v2,

This will also bring creativty back into the game because im sure mages and BH are sick of the same old builds which we have to use in order for a reasonable chance of survival. IMagine caster Mages REBOURNE :O
Im not even a mage but i am looking foward in fighting powerful caster mages agian.

SO OVERALL. MERCS can't complain because thre not gettin "nerfed" , The other clases will have useless skills become useful, hopefully mages will be up to the same standards as the other clases, and mercs will able to have chalengeing fights rather than be frusterated to death over luck, So everyone wins. PLZ IMPLANT IT :P

We all know mercs are too strong and the devs don't feel like fixing it since they put stuff like fame first. The upcoming 2v1, however, is the best release for months now.

No more nerfing.
You can always combat multi people with defense matrix.
Or atk them and make them heal (TM), then use assimilate.

Seriously, we have had TONS of NERFS already in these few updates.
/facepalm.
Another TM strategy for tech mercs is to malf them, assimlatate, then beat the living stuff out of them before they kill you first.

Thats not because of Mercs , Gamma bot is too strong it need a nerf. It allows tank and strong atacks in same time , ridiculus and it require no strategy make all stats 45 than use this robot==>robot==>aux==>gun(heal if needed) than start over again.

:S:S:S , i cant recognize this game , where is the creative and strategic builds???

The build wins 5 focus Merc is 5 focus Hunter , it all depend on luck if you block you will win if not merc will.

Havent mercs been nerf enough. They took away from our support damage and they lower our max hybrid. There isnt almost anything left to take from us.

Whenever I use "5 focus medium high tech and support build" I get my ass kicked by 5 focus bhs or high strength bhs...

Enough already. No more nerf. Havent we been nerfed enough? Our hybrid armor,artilery strike, and many of our OPed builds been nerfed and you want more? No. You wanna nerf us out of existence. I am sick of nerfing. Buffing,removing stat require and returning skills to original way is the only solution. Nerfing is a fail idea. It only results in people whinning and argueing and flaming about being weakened.

Mercs are OP and here's why.
I was fighting in 2v2 with myself, as a non-var merc, against a non-var merc 1 level higher than me, and a var TM, at 1 level lower than me.
My partner was killed very quickly because the lag meant he couldn't heal.
I went on to kill both of them, after I was on 3/4 health and they were both around 3/4 to full health when my partner was killed.
How is that not OP?

depenss on whats level's they were becasue if they are in the 20-25 range. I do that all the time (with my alt). And if u had had a bh u would have been able to either effectively tank or blood lust heal. and if u were a mage maybe you could have malfed and then kept on healing slowly killing them.

@Jeggain We are OPed. That is why we dominate 2 vs 2 and cant be tooken down in our almost unbeatable tank builds. But we dont need a nerf.

In 2v2 we have more advantage but we also were the first to a req for a skill and no other multi has a req.

Because our multi is OPed. The other multis can be debuffed and dont ignore any form of defence. Our multi use to be a ignore 20% of defence,improves with support(Cant be debuffed) and it had no req that is why they nerfed because it was a advantage over other classes. I dont agree on nerfing I think they should've just buffed the other classes multi. But that is why people say where Oped and I agree.

I just beat one yesterday with 59/91 health remaining, I used 5 focus hunter. The trick is to have high support and smoke. You will deflect and block the whole way :D

I play a high level of every class and I know that mercenaries are no longer overpowered. The most overpowered class is the Bounty Hunter.

People complain about a +5 mercenary, but +5 bounty hunters are much stronger. In a match between a +5 Mercenary and +5 Bounty Hunter, the hunter would have a much higher chance of winning.

Here are the BH's two significant advantages:
1. Shadow Arts means they block more than the merc
2. EMP, if a mercenary is EMPd he has no more versatility, whereas the BH can still gain HP from Bloodlust.

^LOL, I ground down his hp with 8-9 and 17's while he hit 30s. My EMP was my only advantage. AND I DO NOT HAVE SA!

And you can't say they aren't OP, if if I didn't get that crit I woulda lost. As it turned out, I critted 51 and healed a bunch, he rage botted and I was left with 3 hp, I healed and then blocked him (Smoke) and finished with rage bot, healing.
