First off, I have no idea what it is like outside ED Forums.

But in ED Forums, there has been a lot of flaming. How do you think people should change their behavior?

To be honest the rest of the forums are better at staying polite than the ED ones. This is due to a much stricter trollin/flaming policy, it does a lot to keep the other forums civil. As Cinderella posted in this thread they are adopting the stricter policy so that should help some.

As for members it comes down to thinking about how people will react to what you will say, and to be respectful of other's opinions. On other forums I go on, the rules say to criticize the post not the person, which is a very good idea to follow when responding to anyone.

^After that post, more flaming.

EDIT: SOrry for being so abrupt, but something needs to be done.

if you have a problem with how something's being done/not being done, the best course of action would probably be best handled with PMing an ArchKnight of the forum. If they don't help, then go to the head moderator of the forum. if the head mod doesn't do anything about it, then go to a forum administrator. and finally, if a forum admin doesn't/can't do anything then PM Circe. If an admin/Circe can't do anything about it then you're unfortunately not in real life :(

Seventy two is right, the other forums are usually more polite than the ED one. Just take a look at the DF forum; flaming is a rare occurence and it's handled so quickly it usually isn't even noticed. But really all you can do to improve a forum is PM the mods and try to talk reason into people.

@Lord Sinastr: I think there is a Signup agreement to remind them.[;)]
