edwardvulture -> Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/20/2011 10:32:27)

Here's a place where we could complie facts about how much of an advantage varium players have from levels 27-33. I will edit this when I next get on.

So... Just in today's fight, I fought a varium person who had 38 more stat boosts than me. Thats insane because I have nearly the best non-varium rares in-game. http://www.epicduel.com/charpage.asp?id=Eddy%20Vulture. That's almost 10 levels in stat points ahead of me. And yes I did enhance weapons, but the guy probably fully enhanced his stuff because he doesn't have to work for credits to enhance items. And then I met a guy with even more stat boosts than that. I've played this game for about 1 and a half years, so I'm one of the experienced ones, I've adapted to change over and over again. I just can't seem to win to these newly enhanced varium beasts.

Here's another fact: There hasn't been a new nonvarium energy gun since may or april of 2010
More: There has been no level 32 nonvarium guns released.
Now: The high end new weapons have double the stats as to the best nonvarium zooka and up to 3 or 4 more bonus.

Mr. Black OP -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/20/2011 10:33:38)

lets see nv few stat points, varium enuf stat points to double there level, that covers it rite?

ajs777 -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/20/2011 10:41:15)

^ yea pretty much, oh and varium gear just looks cooler :P

IsaiahtheMage -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/20/2011 10:45:17)

@zman 2 and ajs777 Yup. Pretty much.

leo07123 -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/20/2011 11:17:45)

it does not matter whether you have varium or not. It depends that you should chose good weapons and good skill. The only way to be best in non-varium is that you should enhance your weapons and try to always buy rare items.

Hope this will help you!!

Luna_moonraider -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/20/2011 11:21:11)

@ above
weps u choose eh hmmm do non variums have wide range of weps to choose from. i think his thread will be locked so i se no point in saying anything much here caus eit would just be a waste of time.

@ below
lolz enhancments made things worse lolz.

leo07123 -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/20/2011 11:27:29)

see the weapons are good but it depends on the use of it. I say that for be good player without varium you should enhance them for best results.

8x -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/20/2011 11:29:39)

Being non-varium is kinda like free trial in ED. lol

leo07123 -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/20/2011 11:33:09)

@above
I don't agree with you. It is good for non-varium's as they are also a player and see they spent more credits as compare to varium user for buying the same weapons. so they are not a player to take free trails. I think your thread should be block because he sad wrong thing.

Light Stridr -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/20/2011 11:41:46)

@leo
I'm going to disagree with you. Variums spend more credits.
This is because they get more wins and therefore more credits, and also, they get more credits through varium packages, which means they actually have more credits to use, and therefore, more to spend.

IsaiahtheMage -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/20/2011 12:15:45)

@leo

Spend one week as a non varuim get from level 1 to level 30 and see that everything you are saying is not true. I mean honestly non varuims dont even have half a good selection varuims do and we need to pay 70x more to get ONE enhancement. So dont say being varuim or non varuim doesnt matter because it makes all the matter. You cant say this thread should be locked because someone doesnt agree with you. That is childish. Not to mention almost all rares are varuim dude do you even play epic duel?!

edwardvulture -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/20/2011 17:47:49)

@8rixo: Nah. varium is like the premiun

OC -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/20/2011 17:53:20)

when are you going to make a nonvarium server or is the money you make off varium more important

Lord GaGa -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/20/2011 17:53:50)

tbh... whats the point F2P's complaining...
pay to play well
its just a litle upgrade that helps days more of your life

Count von Tilly -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/20/2011 20:40:27)

The nonvarium/varium debate can be viewed from two sides:

Varium gives you premium service, so therefore a p2p player deserves to be better of than a f2p; therefore varium is fair.

Or Varium gives you an auto-win against f2ps, therefore making unfair for them.

I find the latter to be more accurate. In almost any pvp game, the purpose of the f2p, bluntly speaking, is to be juxtaposed in the power of the p2p. When structuring a game, the developers aim to have a majority of f2ps and a small concentration of p2ps since it allows the p2ps to stand out more. However, most successful pvp games balance the p2ps and f2ps so that the f2p still has a decent enough chance to win against the p2p if he/she tries. This way, the p2p is satisfied since he still notices improvement on his character while the f2p is also satisfied that he has his "decent chance", meaning that he will not realize that he is a tool of juxtaposition, and will continue playing his role as that which is juxtaposed, maybe paying for something himself later as he likes the game more.

However, in epicduel's case, as soon as a player reaches lvl 27, he is most definitely going to lose against frequent lvl 32 p2ps unless he is a special super-genius. Then, it becomes strikingly obvious that he is there only to serve as a free win for others, a tool of juxtaposition, which is bad for any healthy person's self esteem, unless he pays. Epicduel certainly does not hide this well.
At this critical moment, the player decides on whether to quit, continue(rarely happens), or become a p2p. In this decision, the player would calculate how much varium he will need to become competitive against the other p2ps and what the cost would be.

Then he sees that the ~10k varium he would need to fully equip and enhance himself costs $50. Most players would turn away at this point since they percieve that $50 is overpriced, especially since CoD, Super Smash bros, Medal o Honor(all of which have 3-D graphics, teams of developers, and no "self esteem" problem), and many other games are being sold at around the same price. That's what the average person is most likely going to think.

Only those who are liberal with their money and somewhat rich, or those who are convinced that epicduel offers them a gaming experience other games cannot, would pay at that point. They pay to be competitive, not to gain an advantage.

I myself believe epicduel is unique and fun, otherwise I wouldn't bother to play or post. Unfortunately, epicduel is structured the way it is right now, and I don't see much hope that it will ever attain the aforementioned balance.

edwardvulture -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/21/2011 0:13:30)

^Good Point
@everyone els: THis thread won't be locked because it doesn't call people names. It is simply stating facts.

Wraith -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/21/2011 0:39:42)

Here is a fact. I enhanced my new pistol to 5 with credits.

Mr. Black OP -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/21/2011 0:46:23)

another fact
i fully enhanced an aux with credits had 8 enhancements

Luna_moonraider -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/21/2011 1:03:17)

I fully enh all my weps but wat do i get bad battles an i still lose. basically i just wana say it is pointless to fight for the non variums because the devs willl just ignore it. they are more focused on making PROMOs and varium STUFF.

edwardvulture -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/21/2011 4:02:36)

This update was pretty good except that nonvariums actually have to think to win juggernaut while the varium people just slaughter them with 5 bonus builds.

leo07123 -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/21/2011 5:20:53)

@ Light Stridr, @IsaiahtheMage, all

see there should be no partiality between non-varium and varium and by the as said Light Stridr that varium user get free credits as they buy package as i say it is not good because they get every thing in free but non-varium user as to make more hard work for getting good weapons and all.

Hence i say both are good but the main thing is non-varium user are getting free.

See i know well because i have varium but i like to use non-varium weapons. I will not say only non-varium ppl are best.

Remorse -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/21/2011 11:51:03)

In My opinion it was enhanacements that ruined non variums, as before tht they were putting up decent fights and often if the had a better strategy would end up beating sum variums, nowdays even the smarteset of non variums find it hard, not to mention non strategic builds dominate too much such as focus merc, meaning players with out strategy can beat variums as well as non variums and it all comes down to luck.

edwardvulture -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/21/2011 21:07:32)

Edited

edwardvulture -> RE: Varium Vs. Nonvarium Facts and figures (5/23/2011 10:28:38)
