I think the players should be able to rate the AE games. IT would be really nice to see that though there is a possibility of some trolls to make them look bad.Like the ones you see on gamespot wit the 1 -10 game rating.

In my opinion, game ratings are only suited for small games. AE Games are huge RPG Games and gets updated every week. Like you said, trolls would make it look bad.

I personally don't see how a 1-10 rating system would benefit AEF; it would essentially be a flame/troll magnet, and doesn't offer any comments or feedback the staff can look at. We have threads for feedback and, for many games, entire forums dedicated to user suggestions.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the purpose of your suggestion, however. Could you elaborate on how you feel this would benefit AEF (or detail the features you are proposing be implemented).

There's a feedback area? Any way this is a big free online game and would be an automatic target for flamers/trolls. It's kind of like that ESRB rating except that its made by us.
For the benefit of it maybe that could help the guy to know what game he should upgrade it for or it could be a reminder that they've done a great job on their game.

ESRB ratings actually address the age-appropriateness of a game, rather than assessing how "good" it is.

Although you are right in that flamers or trolls naturally gravitate towards popular sites/games, I don't really think that it's necessary to provide those particular people with a tool to act through. While, if someone flames or trolls on these forums, it can easily be removed, if people decide to attack the games by rating them down, the staff can't in good conscience reset or alter the score as they have no way to determine whether someone genuinely dislikes the games or is just trolling.

Showing favouritism to games depending on how highly-rated they are comes across to me as a dangerous path to take. While each game may need a different level of attention paid to it, I don't really see blatantly pouring the majority resources into some games and neglecting the players of the others based on a rating system's results as an idea that would settle well with the players of AE's games. I'm not saying that each game is currently being given equal manpower or that other resources are being distributed equally, but leaving it to public ratings, as opposed to leaving such things at AE's discretion, doesn't sound to me like a calculated policy.

It would be nice to let the games' teams know that their work is much appreciated, but they can already draw that conclusion from Twitter, from Facebook, from emails and from posts on these forums. As I have mentioned above, providing a rating system would only be providing an opportunity for the staff to be let down by trolls or other unpleasant individuals. Although it isn't a certainty that the system would be swarmed by people with no intention of properly evaluating the games, I think that it'd be better to play it safe, as there are already existing places to provide feedback.

Sorry if I meandered off-topic or lost my threading anywhere. ^_^
