Well, I think me & most people thought if you cheated you get a permanent ban for it.
Now we know if you cheat or something, later on (Months/year) you can try & get you're account unbanned.

What do you think of this?

- Cheaters should just stay permanent banned?
- Cheaters should be allowed a 2nd chance?
- Should a cheater be given a cheater badge, like the other AE Games, so if they return they can't escape what they did?
- Do you think the community opinion should matter if any players should be unbanned or not?
Not just down to the Dev's seeing how we the community have to play a game with cheaters.
(I.E Swearing, dummying, hacking. Things minor to the extreme etc..)

- Should a abusive/swearing player be unbanned but permanent muted till further notice?
(Let them post on the forums to see if they will change or not)
- Should a dummying cheater get his wins set back to 0?
- Should a hacker, I don't know, but lose everything & just start over?
(Keeping there level/beginner weps/wins)

I'm not singling anyone out. I want to find out what the community think about letting cheaters/abusive players back into this game.

I think every1 deserves a second chance......exept hackersand scammers i really hate scammers. scammers should be perma banned from all AE games at the same time.

There is no written policy in ED for how cheaters are treated after they are caught. In other AE games there are. While I am not going to go get the links to the cheating threads for every AE game, I think if you look you will find they are not always banned. I've seen where their account is labeled with cheaters clan, they are given a disadvantage in battles and/or given monetary fines to work off until their account are restored to normal.

In any case, many cheaters are afforded second chances throughout all the AE game. I see no reason ED should not follow suit. I think after sufficient time and after careful consideration of the individual circumstances of each players ban, if it is at all possible, they should be lifted if the player requests it.

What about free non-sellable weapons and armors?
Example: Primary weapon with +0 dmg and negative stat mods or armor with negative defense/resistance bonus :)
They should be unequippable but will always be there so that cheaters get less bag space :P

i like the idea of the cheaters badge, might aswell make it a achievement with 5000 rating points /sarcasm
i think after a year, if u was banned for cheating what gave you unfair wins, dummying/botting ect. then you should have your win reduced to 0 and a cheaters badge with -5000 rating points.

@Remorse I think you mean scammers not hackers.
Hackers are the people who use the T devices not the ones who make them.
Scammers offer big for someones password usually starting with a can I be your friend your so cool bits.
If you haven't been banned for a day in AQW yet for some lil thing your a bigger angel than I.
In ED when I was dueling the so called staff members some were quite rude only a select few weren't.
Now here is the thing when you talk bans, some games will not only ban your account they can your whole IP.
If your not sure what that is ask Mom and Dad it means you cannot make another account.
And pretty much if your account is attached to your master account you could have several games not working.
In a game like this your gonna get angry and say things you do not mean the staff would like you to say them off screen.

Im not saying cheating isn't bad but players who cheat aren't that damaging to the game, yes their actions are bad but you can imagine what it would be like if u cheated and got some of the harsh sugestions listed, eg. A player logs one of his/her accounts and decides , lol i'm gonna log my other account on too , so the player does and then goes lol i'm goin to duel my charcter just for fun, the player does this without relizing that what they've done is dummying, the next day the player logs to find all his stars gone, his wepons useless, his iwns at nothing, his possible money spent on the game is useless. I'm not saying all cheaters are in this situtation but some could be and i think that they should not be treated as bad......unless thier hackers they deserve everything they get.

Edit: @darkling, your right i did mean scammers(wasn;t thinking straight), but I'm talking about scammers who actuly have stolen peoples accounts not just have had a sad attmept too, as for banning people using thier IP , no game i have ever seen has done this, some use it as evidence that it was the sugested offender but they never "block" peoples IP reason being other family members may have accounts and by blocking the IP they would actuly be blocking thier whole family. I was thinking more along the lines of banning the Battleon master account which would stop them from playing most AE games with thier orignal account.

After making this post I forgot to post what I think, lol. Anyway...

Abusive players. If they keep being abusive towards other players they should be banned.
Not sure for how long, maybe a week or two so they will calm down & when there allowed back in-game they get a week mute.

Dummying/finding ways to abuse the system. They should be banned, for how long I do not know. A second chance is fair, but if they do anything that crosses the line they should be permanent banned, every account they have.
They should also be branded with the cheater badge. Trying to do things to abuse the system & not to get caught teach them a lesson with the badge.

Hackers. Permanent banned. No if no buts in my opinion.

Scammers. Banned, not permanent. A month should be good, then allowed back in-game with a 2nd chance.
Branded with a Scammer awareness badge, so people know not to trust this person.

This is a problem that has plagued epicduel since the beginning. Cheating in my opinion should be taken seriously as to other games from Artix. We should have a VAC ban system like Valve does, where a cheater will never be allowed to come back. If you use trainers on the other Artix games it doesn't affect anyone but, if we cheat in epicduel it makes a world of a difference. We have something special that no Artix game will ever have and that's factions and leader boards. Cheating gives a significant advantage to the player. It allows them to save an immense amounts of time from playing and to make matters worse allows them to trample on the rights of the players.

One thing about cheating and coming back situation is that if you cheat in epicduel you will come back to the game. It's as simple as that, I hope that every hacker, dummier, and piloter sees this, if you CHEAT you will come back no doubt about it. The honest players are always punished in the end which is not fair. I remember when I was still active I couldn't do anything to stop those cheaters, it was so cruel, living day to day and knowing that no matter what I do, I will lose. That's what these cheaters do to this once fun game. There like cancer and by allowing them to come back to this game pretty is a slap in the face to those who fight honestly.


This issue needs to be addressed now, if cheaters get unbanned like crazy, then theres no point in even reporting them.

Maybe this can answer your question , i know 4 ppl dummied because they know if they ban their ban will open in 3 days. And they all banned and after 3 days all accounts opened.

I saw some ideas that making win records reset to 0 , than none of banned players will continue to play and this affect game financialy bad because only varium players accounts open after ban.
If i remember correct 2nd chance only given to varium players non varium get permanent bans.

^ If that's true, it's not right. No player who pays should be above the rules.
Any player paying or not, if there allowed a second chance, they all should be intitled to it.
Not just some people who think paying & cheating they should be allowed a second chance cause they payed for this game.

So any player who has dummied/anything else should send Nightwraith a PM an appeal you're ban. (Or the Dev that does this)
Which you should be unbanned for. they should NOT be any favouritism for people who cheat, paying or not.

I feel it's your own fault for being scammed in the first place that you would even put yourself in that position. Remember, to every single action a player makes in any game or real life situation there is always a reason behind it that benefits the instigator. Cheating on the other hand would depend on the situation and whether it was something buried deep that noone knew was even cheating in the first place. Using an account to provide wins to your main or literally hacking or exploiting glitches should be perma-banned offenses imo.

A whole lot of people exploited the George Lowe nerf bug to win him. Should they all be banned?

Providing wins to one account using the other is not a greater sin than scamming. In scamming, someone actually gets victimised. So why does providing wins to one account using the other merit a perma-ban, while the other does not?

I'm not saying that providing wins to one account using the other is a pardonable offense, just that it should not be given a heavier punishment than scamming.

Also abusing a glitch depends on the glitch as you can see you stated something extremely minor to make your case seem logical when it indeed isn't.

Interpretation is truly a wonderful thing in this game. We're talking about serious crimes like dummying, piloting, and using multiple accounts in a faction. Why are you all talking about exploits in the game. If the Devs are aware of an issue, you pretty much won't be banned. Beating up George Lowe does not affect anyone in the game but yourself.

I was only responding to DeathSpawn saying that 'abusing glitches should be a perma-ban offense'. And did both Angels Holocaust and DeathSpawn himself not prove my point? I pointed out an overgeneralisation in DeathSpawn's statement, as he did not define what kind of glitches, when abused, should result in a perma-ban.

In other words my purpose was to point out something 'extremely minor' to reveal the flaws in DeathSpawn's point. Many people also bought the Vendzooka without spending varium during the glitch period. Technically they are bypassing the need to spend real money. Should they be banned? You need to redefine your statement.

And I don't see how the answer to the questions I asked are in your previous post, DeathSpawn. Moreover, Angels, obviously the Devs will become aware of an issue, or they won't catch you in the first place/ rectify the problem.

If this is about a specific player then they should stop cheating when they return!

Having alts in a faction as far as I know is cheating[;)]

Otherwise what is the point of letting them back, btw this may have been an oversight by the player!

Thank you for your concern. We do have policies for banning that are in line with the other AE games, and we'd debated a cheater badge, but feared that it would become a "must-have" cheevo even though it would take away rating points.

There should be a Cheater badge & a Scammer Awareness badge.
Every person who has cheated or try to scam people & got caught, if they get a second chance they should get the badge. =)

@Cinderella: I said the same thing to lLambo in game when we talked about this very topic 2 days ago. Just because reasonable players would not cheat just to get the achievement badge doesn't mean other stupid players might not. It has the potential to cause a rush of cheating and then begging to return with the badge. Seems it would become a major pain for the Admins. I don't see the problem with leaving things as they are now. Let the Admins decide who and when and what to do with their game and just worry about yourself.
