This is just not right! Criticals happen a lot more often than the stated rate...

To get the maximum critical chance you would need to have 11x7=77 more support.

In all reality if you are a support player then it is more likely that your chance to critical will be in the range of 5-9% chance. That is a 35-63 support difference, so to put that in terms of odds, the chance is 1 in 20 to 1 in 11. Now when you look at the stun guns which have a stated 5% (1 in 20) chance that seems to be working and the stuns are very rare.

Video evidence, I have recorded, of the inflated critical rate demonstrates criticals are not based on the above formula and this in not just based on a short sample. What is the real formula?

I believe there are other factors that relate to relative attack strength and defence/resistance...

Has anyone else noticed the rate at which criticals are inflicted in the game?

yup, i lost about 3 matches in a row, 1 to a lvl 28 who kept critting me and blocked twice.
2 critted 2 times one of them critted 3 times.

Those formulas only work well if you have no idea what they are. lol

It always made me either laugh with cynicism or cry because those formulas just get up one's nose.

Don't pay any attention to the formulas. Just grit your teeth and hang in there and hope the yips leave you soon.

With my 72 support build i make about 1 crit every second or third
fight vs Shadow Guard and Valery which is 5-6 turns so everything
seems to be alright.

I believe the max rate is around 25% (same as some skill)

heres how fight goes with noobs when they get lucky:
enemy: smoke Crits
me: assault bot special
enemy: strike
me: smoke (blocks it)
enemy: strike Crits
me: strike, (he blocks it)(im about 40 hp)
enemy: massacre
Enemy: "har har just admit it, im better than u!!!"

I pay attention to all the formulas except crit because it just feels very wrong. If you and your opponent have the same support. Both of you should have a 2% crit chance and guess what happens at one time? My opponent crits me thrice and I get nothing which means the critical rate formula is SUPER wrong.

I just watched how many crits I do so I edited my first post.
Everything seems to be alright with crits.

The stated maximum rate is 13%, I am just relaying what they have told us about how criticals work...

It is really way out of control at the moment, I am not the only one noticing the rate at which criticals happen. The stated formula is not right or it is not working as intended...

I was playing jugger just now and there were 4 criticals in the 1 battle... 2 bunker and 1 art crit by my opponents who had considerably less support than my 105. And I also aux crit once!

They dropped the stated critical chance from 5% base to 2% base, dropped the max chance from 15% to 13% and upped the % increase points from 4 to 7...

Now really criticals should happen very rarely, but that is simply not the case!

Frostlich I was being sarcastic about not paying attention to the formulas. What I mean is that the formulas don't work for crits/support or block/dex.

So I choose to ignore them and call it the Rampant Numbers Game or RNG :P

I also know that Nebula but that is what I call the RNG because it is rampant.

I could have called it Rabies No Gamer. :P

@ Thylek, with 72 support your difference between the NPC's is maybe 30-40 or 4-6% (you would know better than me what their approximate support is) so on top of the base 2% that means you should have a 6-8% chance to critical...

Edit, I reread you post! it would seem that it is OK when playing NPC's approximately once every 15 turns!

I think it depends on both players, both there support affects the rate of Crit....

if i had known that there was that formula ealier, i would personally have started this thread myself, there is no way that in this game that that can possibly be right, maybe in beta and alpha it was true, but no more. If they have kept it for so long I can only think of two reasons, 1. to trick people to believe the game is fair and to have balanced builds instead of spamming support 2.(most likely) the devs don't care to update old information because it is not vital to the actual game play

Yeah this ain't right. I lost to a guy who criticaled me twice in one game with 5 more support, AND he never got blocked having about 30 less dex than me...

Edit, I reread you post! it would seem that it is OK when playing NPC's approximately once every 15 turns!

I now know how much support they have:

Shadow Guard: 29-31 support ~30; Support difference = 42; 2+6 = 8% critical chance = every 12.5th attack turn
Valery: 49-51 support ~50; Support difference = 22; 2+3 = 5% critical chance = every 20th attack turn

12.5 + 12.5 + 20 / 3 = a critical hit every 15th attack turn in average compared to my evaluation.

So previously I did a exact evaluation and critical hits seem to work normal.
For a more precise calculation I would have to write down how often the character
does a critical hit at each attack turn exactly but it doesn´t seem to be necessary.
~93% of my turns are attacks with a crit chance at these NPCs.

You may call me a Mythbuster now. [;)]

Well your sarcasm is actually right because having 0 support advantage against each other or in other words 2 people fighting with the same support should have at least 2% crit rate. But in one battle, Some guy crits me three times when he had the same support.

stuns only have 30 percent chance of stun goony. Merc have highest rate of chance of stun. I find for bounty the higher your strength the more of chance of crits and merc higher your support higher chance of crit. but I haven't figure out mages.

I think the problem with crits is that it has too much of an impact on a game, if the armour ignoring % was simply reduced then the quantity of crits from players who are undesering of this amount of crits would have less of an impact, it would also reduce the unfairness of critting super attacks like beserker and masscre, (what is with that , it's prety much an instant death.)

OK, I have other videos with inflated critical rates, but this is the only one I have uploaded. Too many criticals!

17 strikes for 6 critical hits by me and there was also a critical by DigitalX...

The chance of this happening is way too high for the crits to happen as often as the do! I have seen this happen too much. There is another factor involved other than support differential...

opponent: assault bot special
me: strike (gets blocked)
opponent: robot crit:

opponent: aux crit


OMG!!!!!!!!!!
i had like 5 matches in a row go like this before
they seriously need to check the RNG because right now since yesterday i cant go a single match without being blocked once or critted once.

and btw he had less dex than me. and his support was about 70
