@Hun Kingq

Did you read my mind cuz thats what i was thinking. O.o

Lolz Seriously though, I agree match people with people with the same Battle strength, my way is similar to you but mine is :

Match the player with the same amount of lvl accordance to equipment For example, your item total if you add all lvls are 120 Match it up with some one similar to it like 125 ( This is comparing lvl of your Items and adding the lvl up )
Then you might have a fair fight :)

Elf Priest JZaanu -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 13:35:34)

With a small team, this game has done amazing.

What has hurt this game has been the Artix driven pricing, and varium layered additions that were not needed.

Fame needs to be retooled. This is annoyance. There are better ways to reward players who promote the game. This should be manually done, and this will drive more players away then bring them in.

Warkills a feature that could be fun if it did not impact the faction wars. If people wish to spend money on this feature, it is their choice. But for this feature to impact all players who have invested countless hours for a goal, truly made faction dueling not balanced. This must be removed from any involvement in faction wars.

Rares to General items: I have already discussed this. Why is one preferred over another.

Limited Quantity: A feature that is not bound by any contract, and very contradicting.

Promo weapons/ In-game Promo inflation: Already discussed this.

Enhancements: A feature that has made the powerful even more powerful and added another tier of paying players. Strip the varium pricing, and this issue will resolve itself

This is just a few items, but it seems the AE department holds the finincial strings to this game. And if they don't manage this game well, players will leave and only negative comments will be their parting thoughts.

For anything to succeed or fail, word of mouth is powerful. Will AE take it seriously, many will be watching very closely?

Thylek Shran -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 13:43:02)

Its just sad to see that even players that play this game since a long time now
think this game is crap. What makes me the most angry is that the staff
is ingoring all the real problems that comes in with varium and overpowered
mercs in 2vs2 as example. Im really thinking about quitting and playing AQW
again or looking for games that are not AE because I dont like AE anymore.

Deimos... -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 13:47:19)

AE is lucky :P I would play another game that isn't AE if I found one. xD Right now im playing wizard 101 e_e. (thats just sad lol) (Don't worry ill still play ED like ALOT lol)

5rr5 -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 14:35:44)

Which idiot would play every day Epicduel in Summer vacation, use the vacation good like doing a sport?

Wraith -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 14:42:21)

^SO basically what your sayinf is that the AE community in general is stupid because we play EpicDuel, right?

Cinderella -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 15:41:29)

Edit: Edit your post if you don't want it locked anymore. :P

I do want to address some things- for many of the schools in my area (Middle/High schools) classes are just letting up, and I just had my first exam in my summer (University) class. So for many people, school takes precedence over playing games. That is not something that concerns us, and we'd rather our players focus on school rather than play our game while letting their grades drop.

It seems we get this thread every year around the beginning of Summer Vacation though.

Hun Kingq -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 16:56:09)

People complain about the cost but I seen other online games that within one week time you could spend at least 500 dollars for me I would rather go deep sea fishing or surf fishing then spending that much money. I told the players of the faction I am in, concentrate on school, work or improving their lives, play when you have the time but don't let games run your life.

It is not the cost driving players away it is other players and mismatched battles that are the causing this to happen.

Hopefully in Delta things will be fixed and we could have equalibrium between the classes in order of offense and defense so we can have long 1vs1 and 2vs2 battles.

Wraith -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 17:07:53)

Right now, this game has the best quality of all AE Games, and less team members.

In DF, you can: Get a DA + 42200 DCs in 2 years, along with a sword that levels up with you, a helmet that levels up with you, a cape that levels up with you, and an armor that is one of the best for $90/105. 42k DCs last you for years.

In EpicDuel, in order to have enough Varium for 6 months, you need $240. With that Varium, I recieved: 2 promo swords, Frostbane non-promo, 2 stun guns, 2 non-promo auxes, the game's best armor and 2nd best armor, 2 limited rare weapons, 8 hairstyles, 4 class chnages, 1 name change, a Gold Skull Card, 3 exp boosts (equivalent to a few days of X-Boost), the new claws, 87 enhancements (10 on FB, 10 on AB, 10 on CC, 8 on Char's Staff, 5 on Stun Cannon, 4 on Plasma ACP, 8 on CHar's Blaster, 8 on Bunny Borg, 8 on WarBot, and 16 on both Eggzookas. AND then a lot more.

I think that DF is more worth it, considering that you don't have to worry about being weaker than others, since you just kill Undead and Titan Bosses and so on.

I hope Delta changes things for the better. Perhaps the classes are more balanced, so that we won't have to hop around classes wondering about OPedness and UPedness. I hope that the new classes are more equal in power, and solve the 'Im stronger than u noob u suk stupid nonvar tm' thing that happens so much in fights.

TurkishIncubus -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 17:20:00)

I think ED never become popular so it cant lose popularity. ED will become more fun game if admins listen us , players.

Wraith -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 17:52:19)

According to HeyZap.com, ED has billions of plays. That was in January.

Cinderella -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 18:04:52)

@Turkish- we are listening, it's just unfeasible to implement every single player suggestion. And it takes us longer to make big features that we and the players both want because we are such a small team. I don't think we're doing too badly for a tiny team with a minuscule ad budget.

Tiago X -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 18:36:05)

@Cindy: Yeah , you do listen. Just like the time I PMed you with the stat layout suggestion, for the Suggestion shop, and then, all that crap(except marauder boomstick and Oblivion staff) gets bumped into the game.

Long story short- You do read what we write... And you even take it in consideration! THANKS.
Can anyone tell me where are the sarcasm tags? Thanks.

Cinderella -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 18:50:58)

I put dex and tech with some of them- as well as some being based with strength and support. I was told to base the stats on some of the seasonal rares (although I didn't set the number of enhancement slots). I trued to make them useful without being OP. I'm sorry that I didn't make you specifically happy with the weapons' stats.

I'll try to do better if I'm ever trusted to stat weapons again. I'm very sorry.

Algorithm -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 19:19:00)

I honestly think it has gained popularity, way more fun then when I originally did.

Wraith -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 19:21:55)

^Cinderella: The stats are great, @Tiago X.

If Cindy didn't read this, how could she have replied to you?

The reason I requested to re-open this is because we are putting up suggestions (at least some of us are), and the devs read this, the game will improve.

veneeria -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 19:24:37)

if Epicduel will or will not completely lose their popularity is something that depends on how much epicduel can "make their players happy"... which is something i rather not discuss...Deeply.
Some players have really a good reason, thought others are just plain silly, but this is just is just my opinion.

Sky Drifter -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 19:51:31)

only about 3000 play epic duel, so in general it isnt popular.

unQualified -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 20:37:44)

Dragonfable is having a war right now and it seems more fun then epic duel

Angels Holocaust -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 20:50:41)

The games success is dicatated on the amount of paying members. If more than half of them are non varium than it's no good. There is no income for them.

Wraith -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/12/2011 21:48:55)

^Yeah, but look at DF.

ShadowReaper of Doom/Blinding Light of Destiny, both level 8 weapons, are equivalent to level 30 DA weapons, giving Non-DAs a chance.

Angels Holocaust, you have a point, but what if everyone payed?

Titan: Oooh, we can make money off people! Maybe we put pay $10 to get 3 level 15s vs level 25, they'll fall for it!
NW & Charfade: +1
*everyne pays a lot and AE makes money and gets more greedy*

I willingly spend money on AE Games, but I think that if players show their feelings it will help the devs improve the game.

Luna_moonraider -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/13/2011 2:03:28)

wel yes lots of players quit ed and play some other games so basically yes ed is losing lots of players and not gaining new payers. you do notice there are no avertisments on aqw,mq,df,aq and hs bout ed at all. but do u see mq,aqw,aq,df and hs advertisments on ed home page hell ya.maybe it is not the devs fault the game is so expensive. there are loads of threads bout prices of ed being too expensive the devs should at least red thos treads. dun just say quit the game if u dun like it like the post nw made bout pricing. maybe ae is forcing ed to have high prices well who know so do not point blame the devs. ed is the golden pot of ae ae take the money ed makes and make its other game cheaper well that is what i think.

comicalbike -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/13/2011 3:18:51)

if they gave us double the varium they are giving now that would improve the game as it is not worth the money now
and we cant have over 800 players in each as to much lag game wont die but not much fun at moment till they give us more fore our money

comicalbike -> RE: EpicDuel -- Losing Popularity!? (6/13/2011 3:31:50)

this game will not die if they give us the varium prices wiseman said
