It's working for it if you really want it go for it nothing in life is served to you on a silverplater

DeathGuard -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 19:22:03)

@Baron: First of all, it doesn't matters if I don't got them, I won't waste 1 entire dya of my life trying to get such a foolish achievement, anyways it is just ranking points no big thing.
@Helloguy: If this was implemented, more players will try to win it and that means more challenge to get it.

Baron Dante -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 19:24:12)

@Ryugan: See? "I won't waste a day". Simple as that. If you can't bother, you don't deserve it.

That's the whole point. Either you work to get it, or you don't.

DeathGuard -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 19:25:51)

@Baron: You shouldn't think that way, you're like me you don't got it, hypocrite ;)
Last time I tried rising star enden up in 3rd place, because their was a guy that was asking for f4f like crazy, I have try it at least.

Baron Dante -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 19:36:40)

You tried and failed. He did better. That's all there is.

I'm not a hypocrite. Think about it. I plan on getting it. Yet, I don't want it to be easier. One could say that those that have it and want it to stay like it's now don't have a say, it doesn't affect them.

DeathGuard -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 19:39:12)

Wait, oh you're a founder, that is, keep that pride of yours my friend, anyways you will fail and if I fail, you should have seen the leaderboard, you will stay quite about it :P

My Name is Jake -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 19:41:31)

If you are not in first place, IMO, I don't think you should get the achievment seeing as the achievement is for the players who did get first that day.
Also, the Daily Solo and Team Champion achievements say "Awarded to the player with the most solo/team battle victories during the day" if you are not in first place and have the most battle victories then you don't have the most battle victories and shouldn't get the achievement.

Guys, you don't lose nothing if someone else wins an achievement right?

I totally agree with cr! :)
You still hold your rank at the first or second or third place or whatever.
You will receive the same reward which is only for once.
If you already received it why don't you want to give an opportunity to someone else to receive it as well?
You don't lose nothing if someone else wins, do you?! :)

I guess someone who received the Reward(Achievement) should not be counted unless there is a new Reward(Achievement) available.

This way will give an opportunity to someone else to receive the Reward(Achievement) as well.

@AVA: I miss something here. How is it winning in any way if you aren't the best.

You can be as the best. You got the same reward which is only for once. You can stay at the first place.
What do you actually want more than you already got unless there is a new reward available?

Baron Dante -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 19:54:37)

I can really only see 4 different potential views here:

1) I have the achievement, I don't want it to become something incredibly easy to get
2) I have the achievement, but I don't really care how many has it
3) I don't have it, and I'm lazy, but I should still earn it despite not being the best
4) I don't have it, but I really want it to actually be challenge to get it

Consider this from this view:

This idea is implemented, and I decide I want to try to get it. After spending many hours on it, something urgent in RL comes up, so I have to fortfeit. I end up at 3rd place overall, and I get it. I would hate that happening. I doesn't feel like a win for me.

Mr. Black OP -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 19:56:55)

@above
u wldve easily won anyways if it never happened so u are "the better player" so the best player did win in that scenario

Baron Dante -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 20:04:49)

If it never happened, yes. But that was just an example there. And there wasn't anything to truly prove you were the better player, other than the achievement, which you shouldn't have got. :/

You could say I'm a man that strives to be the best in many things, and I don't want it get shown from a mediocre attempt.

So to help this along and I am sure the others have done this. When at the top of the 1v1 Daily Board. If I was being chased by someone that did not have it, I have slowed and stopped, told them how long I would be fighting so they have a chance. If we had a different achievement every time we won it would change things. But we do not.

Baron Dante -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 20:19:08)

@fay: See 2).

Number 2 said

2) I have the achievement, but I don't really care how many has it

Well I do care. It will still be hard won. :)

Baron Dante -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 20:24:06)

Will it really be hard won if you don't have to reach the top? :/

I really don't understand why does everything in gaming industry be easy to get? I want my 8-bit times back. :/ It doesn't help that most players that never felt the thrill of accomplishing something want them to be easy. -.-

Fay Beeee -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 20:49:27)

^
I understand where you are coming from. I was sooooo please when I go my 1v1. But unless we are going for faction wins then I see no point in getting 1v1 more than once? I did get it more than once, then I realised that you only got the one achievement for it. So why not let the others have a chance.?

Retrosaur -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 20:53:19)

Is there any non-varium out there that has one Daily 2v2 or 1v1? In Gamma? Beta? Delta?

wario the great -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 21:03:24)

well imo if you already have the acheivement and ur faction isnt going for daily 1v1 or 2v2 then you should let someone who is trying hard to get it win it but dont lt them have it easy let them work for it a bit.

Baron Dante -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 21:03:51)

@Fay: Oh, I'm not saying I would keep hogging the spot, no. Or that anyone exactly should, but if they want, they would be free to do so, and they have to be bested.

Sparticus -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 21:11:26)

I was asked by the OP to view this thread. At first I wasn't sure what was going on but after reading every single post twice I think I have the jist of it.

Achievements which are given based on being "first" at something should, IMHO, not be given to players who do not finish first.
The fact that another player already has the achievement should have no bearing on whether another player gets it.
If you don't finish first, you just don't get the achievement, you didn't earn it and don't deserve it.

While many good hearted and well meaning members of this community would gladly give away achievements to make players feel better, I for one would feel diminished. The earned achievements are the only badges of honor left in this game that you can't purchase and should remain difficult to obtain and limited to those who really earned them.

This might put me at odds with the kind and gentle souls of this forum but sometimes you just have to say no.

Mr. Black OP -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 21:17:52)

i think just give it to anyone with a certain amount of wins as 1 day the winner can have 300 the next they guy need 800+ and barely wins

MrBones -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 21:18:34)

Again Baron Dante makes all good points. The point is to WIN. Not coming second or third.

Now what Fay Bee and Ava is talking about is a very different subject. Sportmanship. Now if I am on the top LB and see a player chasing me, the sportmanship thing to do is to let him go. Assuming that I am not in any faction wars that day. This issue have absolutly nothing to do with achievements being easier to get.

@OFF topic Baron Dante: remember Ghost'n Goblins Nitendo 8 bit game.. Now that was a real challenge. ^^

@Spartacus: I hope your voice of reason will be heard loud and clear. Patronizing is highly infectious.

rej -> RE: Today's Leaders - Rewards(Achievements) - Discussion (7/14/2011 22:39:21)

supported

this will keep comical's grubby little hands off other peoples hard earned achievments [&:] (no offense meant)
