MrBones -> Name Dropping (7/16/2011 8:51:29)

Well have seen many threads lock or delete because of a fear of ''popularity contest''. Now I understand that a thread with negative issues against one or more players could be very harmfull.

But what is wrong with saying ''hey I love this guy/girl for doing this or that''. Why can't we say something positive like hey '' those (insert names) are the players are respect the most and here's why.''
I see no popularity contest. I even think it could encourage players to behave better and be nicer.

I would like to know the opinion of the community on that, as I suspect everybody wouldn't mind it being allowed.

Yeah people need to be mentioned for the good stuff they do [:)]

Its not a popularity contest,Some people just need to be known for something(s) they did.

Yep Congrats thread, also it just creates multiple accounts so kids can keep naming themselves.

congratz thread never gets looked at.

ND Mallet -> RE: Name Dropping (7/18/2011 14:02:57)

Positive threads always end in popularity contests because there are always posts asking "Where am I at on your guys' list?" That is the reason why threads where you name positive players never work because the well known ones get posted and the not well known make off topic posts about how they aren't named. Also, they can end up in flame wars if Member A posts saying Member B is awesome but Members C and D hate Member B and flame Member A for their opinion. There's also the fact that they almost never have discussion on them.

Basicball -> RE: Name Dropping (7/18/2011 14:09:28)

I dig voidance and mr. bones, I respect there opinons which, which for the most part, are grounded in reality and help me see broader points of an issue that I would otherwise have not thought of XD
