Remorse -> Will skill and strategy return?? (8/4/2011 5:09:04)

I think the balance adjustments seem really good in my opnion as it eliminates all the powerful builds which have caused stratgey and skill to be buried.

Now however I think with all these bad skills buffed, and all the power tacken out this could be one of the best deceions the Devs have ever made!!
An example on how strategy will return is now that robots have only 1 shot before a cool down, now players will have to think very strtegically on what they are going to do.. I like it very much.

What do you guys think discuss.?

lol, as much as I love the update, I think is just going to introduce more strength, and especially more support spamming.

I love it , best update ever , % skills + 5 focus gets nerf and fixed dmg ones get buffs.I was sick of seeing only str-supp-5focus builds now there will be some more variety and this game will be enjoyable again.

totally agree bro, we might see some new builds out there. I was really tired of that artillery strike support build with mercys and taticals. 1 of the most mainstream builds ive ever hated.

Skill and strategy are varium's enemies. Sadly I don't think they will ever be back to rule EpicDuel.

i cant wait for friday becuase im pretty sure skill is coming back so im getting active once more and right now by build is being totaled by no skill builds

Well i could probably be happy for it right now cuz my main is killing me. A level 32 with a level 27 sword ONLY. IM THA MOST UP PLAYA.

But skill and strategy still won't work with support in the way. Take away support maybe and we have more time to spend on the 3 stats that are REAL.

oh and to take away all those strength builds maybe let the Dev's consider a fatigue meter which stops you from using strike depending on your strength.

builds get balanced:

-5 focus builds cannot use aux damage moves for every attacks, they're more of tanks now with decent stab attacks

-Strength builds won't deal as much damage but they are still potent enough

- All classes can go the multi attack path with different results and advantages

-Passive play might be a major player in this new update

still, Tactical mercs must be rubbing their hands in glee, they likely survived another balance update, as clear topdogs.

I still don't get why many people like this idea so much. I mean Str is still the most powerful skill then Supp and a tie between Tech and Dex.
If explained in a way that 12 year old can understand, then please do so cuz i have no idea really what to like.

STR is the favored build, next to five focus, becuase yuo can just hammer away with the primary and gun attacks and not have to worthy about anyskill

Support is a close second becuase you can pair up a nice Aux with a good heal so you can do dmage and heal away all of your damage, basicly its remembering HLTM becuase thats what it was a high support high HP build

Tech and Dex tie for last becuase to use these correct you have to have skill and why would you use skill when no skill wins 90%

Until equal and level stats are introduced into our builds, this game can never be leveled. More stats within our builds, the more likely-hood the winner is already decided.

As wonderful as these adjustments are, they are nothing more then rubber-band fixes. Once the stats push these adjustments out of whack, then the game will introduce another rubber-band to fix another issue.

Skill will never be part of this game, it is how one manage one's stats they are given or able to afford, and try to play the best one can.

With this update it is just a major buff to the community but it still is not helping balance since it is destroying the only balanced build 5 Focus. Now all their is left spamming builds and Tank Builds(Non Focus). I am kinda mad about that now my bot is gonna become useless. [:@]

@above if 5 focus is the only balanced build then ED has some serious issues
If anything removing all teh no kill builds, which is what this update is more of less doing, will lead to a flow of creativity which in turn leads to balance much like Early Beta where everyone had a build and no one really had an over 70% win rate if you did you NPC'ed or dummied

@Above ED does have serious balance issues that is obvious. Spamming is far worst then 5 Focus Builds who main strenght is just defence and a robot unlike STR Spammers who can hit 30s-50s every turn. How will nerfing the most balanced build lead to the flow of creativty? The only builds left is spamming now. Oh yeah that is creative.

becuase Spammers and 5 focus are both getting hit here
Spammers lose there power in teh fact that the percent skills they need to win now only take a percent of there weapon damage then add in there damge from STR unlike doing a percent of the total
and 5 focus loses the ability to spam the support weapon we all know as Bots

While creative builds are getting a buff

5 focus will have to find a different combo than bot, bot, aux, heal, bot, bot, aux.
