classifiedname -> a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/11/2011 9:18:44)

when making a 1vs1 build does it sometimes feel like a game of rock, paper, scissors?
i mean str beats support, support beats tank, and tank beats str that just seems to be the way it is

SouL Prisoner -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/11/2011 9:53:32)

tank isn't really beated by support. /*its vice versa.

goldslayer1 -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/11/2011 9:55:21)

support only beats tank if support crits the tank.
which will usually happen anyway since half the attacks these days are all crits.

Fay Beeee -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/11/2011 10:09:30)

My 1v1's are all about giving me a chance.
By that I mean
I try for a build that will give me a chance against all classes.
Even tlm, although I rarely win against them I will still try :)

TurkishIncubus -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/11/2011 11:10:15)

Luck beats all , luck is joker :D

aqwshadowking14 -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/11/2011 11:11:43)

Tanks can easily destroy support builds. And support can easily beat str builds. :D

I beat tank, str and supp builds with my 1vs1 support build. So, it does not feel like the game of rock, paper, scissors.

Drakadh -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/11/2011 15:00:33)

I beated a Spprt builds (TLM) with a Well balanced build, mainly use their weakness. ( But I rarely win xD )

rej -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/11/2011 18:59:19)

yes, i have noticed this. support builds seem to get garunteed zooka crits on me, and str build never stand a chance.
this would actualy be a good thing, exept for one small problem; this theory only works for tlms. they still beat all other classes, regardless of builds [:D]

Sipping Cider -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/11/2011 19:12:47)

I noticed something like this, but I hope that this will end. I invision EpicDuel being like rock, paper scissors, but with each componet representing a different class, not build.

So tech mage could be paper, bounty hunter could be scissors, and mercenary could be rock.

Or at least something like that.

HellsCupid -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/12/2011 1:21:22)

rock and paper.

death before dawn -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/13/2011 14:01:09)

i liked it back in beta when it was definetly a better traingle... mage beats merc, merc beats bh, and bh beat mage

Infinity Everlasting -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/13/2011 14:12:30)

No it's rock and paper. A good tank/poison, 5 focus build will beat every other build in a fair fight, just depends on which of the poison mercs go first.

also, @above- I think it is mercs>mage, mage>bh, mercs>bh; I have used a merc build in beta that got 49/50 ratio with a ton of high hp mage fights.

nico0las -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/13/2011 16:50:06)

Support beats str. str beats tank (usually) tank beats support. I find this happens the most.

frogbones -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/13/2011 16:52:38)

STR Tac Mercs beat everything.

This is a fact.

Isabella -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/13/2011 16:54:23)

Scissors Paper Rock. i pick Chuck Norris, in which Chuck Norris = luck

Callisto -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/13/2011 17:05:26)

quote:

STR Tac Mercs beat everything.
-Not always true but yes most of the time
quote:

Support beats str. str beats tank (usually) tank beats support.
-Mostly true,but I'd like to add that tank can beat str as well.
Talking from experience...(although you need to get lucky to block str merc at least once) so conclusion:Luck beats all

frogbones -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/13/2011 17:06:03)

@ Isabella:

True that!

@Callisto:

Of course not always, lol. Just most of the time.

Remorse -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/14/2011 1:43:29)

If rock paper siscors was a game where the rock could beat everything then yes.
As we know it's not TLM beat all most of the time (providing their smart and luck dosnt interfear.)

And i think it's time we ditch the scalpel approuch in bring in the sledge hammer, FIX TLM NOW!!!
This buffing all classes crp aint never gonna work!

Dax -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/14/2011 2:22:34)

I'd say it's definitely a bit more complex then rock, paper scissors. Support, tank and strength builds vary greatly between classes. For example, tank mercs tend to be more difficult to overcome because of their hybrid. I hopped on and played a bit today and won about 15 random battles in a row as a bounty hunter against a variety of opponents including a support TLM and a Poison/5 Focus TLM.(level capped full varium gear etc.) I clearly need more data points to draw a valid statistical conclusion, however I'm fairly confident that the current scene cannot be reduced to a simple x beats y beats z beats x type of analogy.

voidance -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/14/2011 2:39:25)

I think he ment a average player vs average player, not try hard vs average player. Thats a compliment so don't take it the wrong way.

EMINEM DR.DRE -> RE: a game of rock,paper,scissors (8/19/2011 18:37:21)

I think of it as a luck game its either on ur side or theres :)
