Feral Ninja -> AQ Unofficial Clan Forum (8/24/2011 17:22:54)

As you all know, in the clans section, there's pretty much a forum for all the games...

But not AQ.

So my suggestion is pretty simple... How about we add in a section for AQ clans?

~Feral

EDIT: I did not mean the Paxia clans, I meant our own made clans.

Voigan -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/24/2011 17:29:04)

There already is one. It was just moved from the Aq forum section to the clans, houses and guilds section ages ago. [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tt.asp?forumid=126]Clicky!
Ah. Silly me.[:)] Never mind.

Feral Ninja -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/24/2011 17:32:00)

I think you misunderstood me. ;)

I did not mean the current ones of Paxia.

I meant our own made clans. ;)

Cataclysm -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/24/2011 17:38:47)

There've been a lot of suggestions about this in the past, and I agree with the idea of it. I can't say I agree with the reasoning that we have been given as to why we aren't allowed to have our own section (MQ isn't, either).

It's because we have the Paxia Clans (and MQ has Houses). Though, I find the Paxia clans extremely limiting. It's basically saying "If you want to have a clan, you're required to chose an elemental alignment (or Unity)." This leads to some problems, though. Namely, the requirement to align yourself based on an element (or, well, Unity).

Not everyone wants to get specifically with an element (myself included). Other clans would likely allow for a larger amount of interaction between players (let's face it, Paxia is dead). The Paxia clans don't really have the same community feel that you would get if you were in a forum-made clan, either. There's just not a lot of freedom within the Paxia subset, and I think freedom is really what makes the Clans section feel like Clans.

Feral Ninja -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/24/2011 17:41:19)

^Wow, I couldn't have said it any better!

Mind if I put that in the first post? ;)

afterlifex -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/24/2011 17:52:22)

Didn't we have such a thing at one point?

Feral Ninja -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/24/2011 17:56:34)

^That was waaaaaaaaay back in the old forums I believe...
AQ had it's own clan forum, but with the new forum, the clan section disappeared. =/

Atleast, that's if my memory serves me right...

~Feral

afterlifex -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/24/2011 18:00:56)

I have no idea why it changed I just remember EGoL having one

Feral Ninja -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/24/2011 18:08:40)

AGoL? I'm assuming you mean the Elemental Guardians of Lore?

Hmm, now that you're saying it... I kinda remember that aswell... =/
Not sure what happened though, so I guess we'll need an AK to tell us that.

~Feral

Cataclysm -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/24/2011 19:10:49)

I don't see why you couldn't put it in the first post, though I also don't see it being necessary (it's three posts down from the first post, anyway).

There were AQ Clans allowed at one point, but that was prior to the drastic restructuring of the Clans forums (anyone from back then will remember - they were a spam haven, and fairly ridiculous at times). Since I returned to the forums, AQ (or MQ for that matter) clans haven't been allowed anymore. The only reasoning was "AQ has Paxia (MQ has Houses)." This wasn't a problem in the slightest prior to the restructuring, though, so I'm not sure what exactly happened and why the rules changed to forbid AQ (and MQ) clans.

Elryn -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/25/2011 10:35:30)

Ubear, a few others and I try to suggest this not too long ago as TEEPOL would not be allowed without it (and to start again for that matter). Sadly, it is as you say. As far as clans go, you are limited to the Paxia clans.

Edit : Found it.

I still feel that it is a moot point. There are rule breakers regardless of the board and that will not change (unfortunately) and they will, as always, be dealt with accordingly. A leader aims to have his members respect the forum rules either way. He would not be able to make a clan in the first place if he did not.

Fisto -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/25/2011 11:05:19)

I miss the old clans. I remember when AQ was filled w/ all the different clans and then I remember AQ taking this privilege away from us. We had an opportunity to keep our clan listed but we had a member that decided to cheat when he first started playing and we were forced to do two thing's...remove him from the guild or make our guild private. We chose private. EGoL is still around, I frequently visit the private forums but alas w/out being w/in the AQ forums, it's slowly vanishing.

No matter what course or action you decide to take there will always be riff rafts and delinquents...however I do not think that those select few should be the reason to not have clans.

necrolich66 -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/25/2011 11:21:42)

there was an attempt not long ago with ubear that i supported

the "TEEPOL"

i hope AQ can have his clans too
the main and biggest non MMO AE game needs clans

Ubear -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/25/2011 14:52:36)

Ahh I remember TEEPOL :)
An AQ clan forum would be great, there used to be a clan forum where AQ players could post, about 2 years ago, but the clan forum doesn't allow AQ players to post their clans now. Eventhough we know the clans posted wouldn't get implemented in-game and that is NOT the reason people make clans, they do it for fun.
I am all for fun so I still support the unofficial AQ clans idea.

Good luck with it Feral :)

Feral Ninja -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/25/2011 15:02:46)

Thanks everyone, for all of your support. :)

The idea for this came in my mind when I remembered about The Archslayers... So yeah, I'm sure of one thing... If we can make clans again... I'm pretty sure The Archslayers and The Elemental Guardians of lore will fully return! :D

Feral Ninja -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/28/2011 11:22:49)

Since it has been almost 3 days without a reply, especially not from forum mods or any of that.

Bump.

But, also a question:
How hard is it to code it into the forum? I can't imagine that adding just one subsection would be that difficult, right?

Having a clan forum for AQ = More community happiness = Having fun.
This could even be beneficial to wars and such, if multiple clans do some sort of ''Clan Race'', like which clan has the most wave total wins.

~Feral

Ubear -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/28/2011 13:29:29)

^ They don't have to code anything. Just to change the rules (click) in the clan forum to allow AQ players to make their own clans. Paxia just isn't a big part of the game and players can do better. In my opinion there wouldn't be as many people playing AQ now if there was no forums. The community is a big part of playing AQ.

Cataclysm -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/29/2011 15:15:49)

They actually do have to put in a new section, one for "AQ Unofficial Clans," much like how Dragonfable and AQW have one. Even so, it's not altogether difficult, I don't think.

Elryn -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/29/2011 15:39:01)

Allowing AQ Clans to recruit here would do I think : link. Clan forums would be off site.

Cataclysm -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/29/2011 16:11:47)

That's the recruitment forum, and that's where the recruitment threads would go. I'm referring to the AQW Clans, DF Clans, and ED Factions sections like what they have here. They would have to add an AQ Clans section for that in addition to changing the rules to allow AQ Clan recruitment threads.

Feral Ninja -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/29/2011 17:10:07)

Elryn@ Basically, we'll have what AQW, DF and ED's having.

Please enlighten me, Elryn... Why would a AQ clan be illegal whilst DF (Also a single player game, if I may add.) in fact is legal?
To be honest, the whole ''AQ has Paxia!!!!'' reason is stupid to say the least. =/

~Feral

Elryn -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/29/2011 18:13:15)

Nay, that is not what I meant. I was simply replying to a comment made by the staff that it would take too much resources to add a AQ subsection (then again, they could include it in the Paxia subforum turning it into the Paxia and unofficial AQ clans forums).

At the very least, allow us to us the recruitment forums.

Circe -> RE: AQ Clan Forum (8/29/2011 19:45:38)

The Clan section is for hosting official clans. When there are not official clans, unofficial ones are permitted until official ones are introduced. Since AQ is not an MMO, there is no reason to have a forum like ED or AQW - you have official, in-game clans and those are what the forum is coded to support.

Feral Ninja -> RE: AQ Unofficial Clan Forum (9/7/2011 15:02:37)

And yet, the forum does have Unofficial Clans.

DF doesn't have official clans yet, so they are allowed.
AQ does have official clans, so we are not allowed.

If this is actually the best reason there can be, I personally think we, the supporters are winning argument-wise.

Official clans are limited.
What if someone on the forum you absolutely ''hate'' (Or just don't like, or any of those sort of reasons) is in the same clan as you? Yeah, enjoyment from clans fail.

We need our own clans, where we can decide who joins or not, where we can actually decide what reason we have to be a clan, where we can decide wether or not we should limit ourselves to one single element.

I think alot of people here who want an AQ Clan Forum will already be happy if we can post our clans in the recruitment forum tbh.

~Feral

Yeah but they're incredibly bad, let's be honest. They are a terribly bad part of the game and more should be done with them. Any player can do a better job with an unofficial clan. No need for it to be in-game.
