Joe10112 -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/5/2011 1:40:34)

I like "Fry" battles better, because that's my build. If I win a burger match, I'm satisfied but disappointed, as I wanted lots of fries instead of a burger. But when i go up against bosses, I'm totally fine with a burger. In fact, I dont think a Fry match works against bosses...

Celestine -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/5/2011 1:54:21)

I've always enjoyed a serving of fries with the occasional burger. Too many fries at once just leaves me unsatisfied and with a salty aftertaste.
I still wouldn't shove 5 burgers into my mouth, that would just leave me with an upset stomach.

Realistically speaking, I enjoy quick battles as well as as long battles. Short battles can be productive and to the point, although some carry no strategy at all.
Long battles can be strategical and fun, but some get very boring and repetitive.
In order for a good meal you must have variety, so I'm glad either when I battle a burger or a fry. :P

Joe10112 -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/5/2011 2:02:22)

@Celestine: Very well said. I sometimes get bored owning levels under me with my quick kill build. A nice long battle with a 33 is fun too, or trying to take out an NPC that I have like a 10% chance of beating. (Overlord Guard took me 19 tries with the same build, needed alot of luck. Now I'm onto Charfade, I dont think I can beat her until I get lucky blocks in...so far, no lucky blocks yet :P)

mr.p -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/5/2011 2:08:25)

The best kind of battles are those that last long, because, the require strategy and more thinking. The reason why the are short battles, are A, because all the power favors one player in a battle, B, one of the players doesn't really care, and C, the other player has more luck.

Which, sounds better? a battle that last less than 1 min, or a battle that lasted up to 10 min?

Long battles make my day in ED lol, after 5-10 short/boring battles(excluding low levels), I log off!

Goony -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/5/2011 4:22:15)

There is a reason why there are more burgers!

In the past, in Beta, the bounties were the best fries, hot, short and tasty. The best way to eat them was to add some spice to your own class. Mercenaries would add some tomato sauce to their fries in the way of intimidate. The problem lies with the cook who researched and developed the big fat chips that all people could eat!

This changed the recipe and now many more calories have been added to the diet. Lately,to combat tactical mercenaries, the cooks have had to resort to stacking heaps of extras into their cooking and the burger is the only edible part of their diet. Now that the burger with the lot has become a popular choice, since the fries of the other cooks cannot compete, they are flooding the market with burgers.

Some of these burgers have not yet been rated by the heart foundation and may be detrimental to the health...

MirageD -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/5/2011 7:24:19)

rofl i love this thread [:D]

i personally like both burgers and fries....but i hate it when i've started a meal and realize....OMG....i should have ordered fries instead of this double 1/4 pounder with cheese....i feel soooo sick :(

Sparticus -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/5/2011 9:23:43)

Its really great to see all the happy forumites posting in this thread and having a good time doing it. I missed this and I'm glad I could serve you this fine mental meal this weekend. Gratuity not included. :-)

Classes are less like fries and a burger then battles are. All classes can produce both a burger build and fry builds. Those who choose to produce fries, choose to make them in large, user friendly batches and try to spread them out as fast as possible. Those who choose to produce a burger, choose to make them monumental and memorable, in and of themselves, singularly special and delicious. When you're hungry, you usually know what you want to eat and make an order to satisfy that craving. Here in ED, you walk into the establishment knowing what you want but get served whatever is on the menu that day regardless of whether or not it's what you wanted. Its more like school lunch then fine dining.

HydroMonk -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/5/2011 9:50:17)

Oh! Maaan .. I'm hungry , I want pizza lvl 5

MirageD -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/5/2011 10:39:29)

Sparticus -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/5/2011 11:39:12)

My pleasure [;)]

I've been looking for some spicy fries today but can't seem to shake off the burgers. I think I need to visit your town, mine is full of burger joints.

MirageD -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/5/2011 11:59:28)

i'm thinking those 2v1 boss battle fights are sort of like a milkshake.....slow and sweet....but sometimes give you a head freeze [;)]

Sparticus -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/5/2011 13:00:34)

2v2 are clearly a double, blind date. You might find a lot in common with your partner or you might end up alone, stood up yet again.

The meal is much more satisfying when both couples have compatible partners. The dinner conversation is stimulating and the food, thus,
taste better. It's at times like this that a good burger is preferable. Like I mentioned before, when I go out for fast food I don't want to wait
an hour after I order to get my food and then another hour to eat it. The same applies here. When I go out with a couple, I expect to order, take
a moment to get to know my date, take some time to get to know the other couple and then initiate some witty banter while those yummy burgers
make their way to the table. When they arrive, we all sit down and get to the "meat" of the matter so to speak. Once dinner is over, full and happy, we
all go our separate ways, losers pay the check of course. [:D]

MirageD -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/5/2011 15:01:13)

^ how true.....no wonder i'm having troubles.....i need to get a better dating service...lol

here i am going out on blind double dates to a fast food joint [:@] what was i thinking ???

Sparticus -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/5/2011 20:28:41)

Well this thread has been some great fun and I thank all the posters for following along with the theme and posting some great stuff.
Here in the USA, Labor day weekend is ending. All the burgers and fries have been cooked and eaten and its time for some serious
schoolwork to kick in. Good luck to all of you who have been in school and are going back to school this week. Enjoy your time in
class and your friends. Especially enjoy those school lunches. [:D]

MirageD -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/5/2011 20:32:43)

hehe....[:)] so enjoyed this thread :)....hope there will be more like them [;)]

Infinity Everlasting -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/5/2011 21:21:51)

Amazing Post!

I truly wish that ED would become this way once more; I remember when I played as a BH (when they were underpowered) and it was fun even though I lost A LOT, now I rage when someone gets a crit or a block because it has become a great desire of people to maintain a good ratio.

Silver Sky Magician -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/5/2011 21:27:52)

@infinity everlasting

Agreed. Though it might be a little ironic that you prefer fries to burgers given your forum name...[&:]

I usually prefer burgers, since I don't play as much as some here do; an exception is during power hour, where I go on a fry ramage.[;)]

NPC burgers are also unpleasant; I enjoy long fights for the tension, strategy and to an extent unpredictability; long NPC fights are merely tedious, with the exception of achievement NPCs.

tigura -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/6/2011 12:44:47)

I had a 30 round burger with rayman :O

MrBones -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/6/2011 17:31:05)

Well I like fries.. but with some ketchup on it . . .

Eating only fries will eventually kill you or make you morbididly obese.

redxtra -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/6/2011 18:49:09)

nowadays battles are short mainly cause of the builds we have now
back then the battles would be around 7-9 rounds on average
now they are 2-5 rounds

(but a fun thing to do would be to take off all your weapons and armor and get the lvl 1 weapons junk bot and fight using only the basic attack, that fight would last forever lol.)

frosty123 -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/6/2011 19:27:27)

Lol Mirage having the same trouble with blind dates. Found some good service but yesterday it was "Locked" from everyone because the poor blind date service had barely anyone in it.

Elf Priest JZaanu -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/6/2011 20:10:18)

For myself, I prefer all my dishes in 5 course selections. To have the ability to adapt to the meal and adjust to its own characteristics makes it an intriguing challenge. I have never been to able to be the fry or burger for I felt each was an extreme beyond my own personal beliefs. My preferred meal must be deeply colorful and must be nutritious, for once the meal has been concluded, all is left is a memory.

shaolin hunt -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/6/2011 23:15:20)

I like it when I get the full 8 course meal. Obviously I'll have BB corn for my appetizer, Century Soup, King Land Shark for the fish dish , Jewel Meat from the Regal Mammoth for the meat dish, GOD as the main course, Bachuss Onion for salad, Fruit of the Rainbow as desert and lastly my drink would be Mellow Cola. Of course all the capture levels of these ingredients exceed normal limits.

Edit* My post was pretty much a reference to Toriko but since no one here reads that I guess everyone can just disregard it..

Midnightsoul -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/7/2011 1:52:04)

@shaolin hunt

jeez dude, u must eat ALOT. (no im not calling u fat. i understand some ppl HAVE to eat alot for a healthy diet)
oh, btw, im in shaolin kung fu since im referring to ur name.

@on topic
i, as most ppl enjoy a mixture of both...except, i prefer having burgers on noobs and fries on 10k var ppl. although, when im having a good chance to win on either of them, its the other way around. =P

Sparticus -> RE: Battles are Fries and Not Burgers. (9/7/2011 15:26:34)

I suppose if your goal is get full, any food will do...

If you want to get full as fast as possible then fries on the fly....

If you want to get full nice and slow then burgers sitting down.....

If your goal in this game is to have a full course meal, you picked the wrong restaurant. This restaurant does not server a full menu yet so until it does you will be left hungry...
I've been begging for more menu items, finer dining and a better clientele but the owners are going in a different direction with the establishment.
All we can do is be kind food critics and discuss the current selection of burgers and fries that are on the existing menu.
