This quote was taken from here. I just remember them mentioning this a while ago, and it seems like we all forgot about this! A contest like this could have been great fun, and the devs could get a little cash from the houses and housing items that everyone would purchase :D. Right now, houses and housing items have almost no point and they're only used for socialising occassions in-game. I have seen some people with some really cool houses which have been decorated extremely well, although they receive no reward for their hard work. Houses are currently unsellable as well, so that makes them less useful.

In this thread you may:

  • Discuss how you would feel about an official contest for the best house decorators of Epicduel!

  • Discuss what you think of houses right now, are they useful, do you like them, do you have any motives to buy a house in Epicduel?

    I'll PM Lord Barrius and Cinderella to see what they think of making an official contest like this as well :).

    This seems like it could be fun, personally i do not own a house, just yet (soon maybe) I have seen a vast array of nicely decorated homes and there seems to be a lot of options regarding decoration and placements of items within.

    ^Yeah, I have a Fortune City Apartment although I only purchased it because it allowed me to conveniently teleport to fortune city in the past. Houses no longer allow you to do that (and I don't mind that), but that did mean that houses had one less use. I think that a contest like this would be really fun, and we could even choose one non-varium and two varium winners because there are more varium house items available which makes it easier for a varium player to win. My house currently has no furniture in it right now, because what's the point of me spending extra credits/varium for no particular reason?

    Well, you could decorate it for it to look better, give it some homely atmosphere when you have parties. How much credit items are there?

    There's actually more than 37 credit items although some of them could be quite expensive, because credits aren't easy to acquire for everyone. And my point is, that I have no motive to make it look better. I don't usually host parties at my house, but something like this contest could motivate players with a similar mindset to me to decorate their houses ^^.

    I think it would be a great way to bring an element of the game, that was suppose to be the first stage of community, a fresh new look.

    Within the pvp settings, the homes were past by for other wishes the players had. For myself, I was most thrilled when it was introduced, and I still take pride in this aspect of the game.

    With credits and varium mostly being used on enhancements and weapon items, the motivation has diminished.

    The good news is October, November and December were the months many of the nice seasonal items were introduced. If the game wishes to revisit the Home feature, this last quarter of the year would be a great time.

    I won't buy any furniture for my houses until they have even a tiny bit of interactive use. I'd be just wasting my money on "photoshopping" a snapshot of my house except this version of photoshop costs money [:'(].

    if they remove a digit from the price of all house items i.e 3100 changed to 310 then I'm sure they would see an increase in sales and
    people might actually care about their house, or at least convince them to buy one. I did suggest this in the suggestions section.

    the prices atm are just ridiculous. houses could be a truly amazing feature if it wasnt so poorly priced.

    Would be nice to see a return each month after investing a certain amount in your home. For instance 500k invested in your home earns you 25-50k (5%-10%) a month. Something like that would be motivating :)

    I totally agree as houses are totally useless now......no point decorating it if it's no use.I'll love to have a contest at a certain place I'll start decorating my home right away!

    I think also if the "limited quantity or rare" issued items were released, it could definitely spark more interest as well. I am really excited for these next few months cause many fun things were released. I think Nightwraith has a snowman in one of his houses.

    This would be a nice incentive in purchasing houses as well as varium house items, if it is done occasionally(monthly).

    Players that have invested an abundant amount of time and money on decorating their house deserve recognition, at the very least.

    Houses are not used for anything right now, besides a quiet area(on most occasions), I hope they start working on improving the home feature soon.
