Making a signature involves some fairly fine points. For that sort of thing, you should check out Creative Art's Guides and Tutorials board for guides and Help and Support to ask any questions you might have.
Once you have an image saved on your hard drive, to use it as your signature you need to:
Upload it via an image hosting site like ImageShack or Photobucket,
Take the URL and place it in between image tags like so: [image]URL here[/image],
Copy that,
Go to 'Profile',
Find the signature field and paste what you've copied there,
Click apply.
It's probably possible to make a signature with Paint but the program is pretty simplistic. Gimp or at least Paint.NET (both can be downloaded for free, by the way) would be better suited to your purpose.
