So basically "spam control" decided that I post too much and prevents me from posting after a while.

Because of the stupid Flash issue I switched over to Firefox, and I've gotten used to it.

Whenever I get into "you post too much wait a while then retry" thingy, I just click go back.

Guess what, the OK button becomes unclickable.

I press back then forward again. Yep, unclickable. Preview-->OK. Guess what, does nothing.

This thing isn't an issue on Chrome/Chromium. Stop forcing me to play ED/stuff on Firefox then make me post on Chrome x.x

But yea, ED Forums aren't active really so it is overlookable.

ya, it does that for some odd reason, but its easily worked around
instead of using fast reply or post reply, use the other selection instead
doing so will allow you to post and you can keep alternating until the post time limit is gone,
just make sure you copy and paste the text over

It's a 1 post per limit flood control to prevent spam bots from flooding the forums if they ever bypass the security measures which I'm assuming have been setup. The good thing about Fast Reply on Firefox is that when you hit back your text is saved, for early versions of IE this wasn't the case, though this and other issues were rectified in IE9.

The Forgotten -> RE: The Forums + Firefox (10/8/2011 7:11:38)

So what exactly are you suggesting? The post limit exists and is not going to change. I don't really see how any technical issues restrict your ability to post through Firefox.

If you have grievances about the forums, please phrase them in a civil manner. The title of this thread has been edited.

Wraith -> RE: The Forums + Firefox (10/10/2011 15:13:13)

How was it not civil? Just because it was slightly harsh, it's unacceptable? No offense intended.

IMO just reduce the limit, on other forums I have no such issue and spam isn't really an issue. 10-15 seconds is enough for a spam control.

Grixus Faldor -> RE: The Forums + Firefox (10/11/2011 6:01:25)

What TF was saying is that if you want to make a suggestion in relation to the functionality of the forums doing so in an uncivil manner it won't achieve anything, if anything it'll only hinder what chances you have of being heard. Also the 1 minute spam control has worked fine for many years, there's no need for it to change. 10-15 seconds is more than enough of a threshold for spam bots to spam the forums.
